We have heard8085 with our ears241, O God430, our fathers1 have told5608 us, what work6467 thou didst6466 in their days3117, in the times3117 of old6924. 2 How thou didst drive out3423 the heathen1471 with thy hand3027, and plantedst5193 them; how thou didst afflict7489 the people3816, and cast them out7971. 3 For they got3423 not the land776 in possession3423 by their own sword2719, neither did their own arm2220 save3467 them: but thy right hand3225, and thine arm2220, and the light216 of thy countenance6440, because thou hadst a favour7521 unto them. 4 Thou art my King4428, O God430: command6680 deliverances3444 for Jacob3290. 5 Through thee will we push down5055 our enemies6862: through thy name8034 will we tread them under947 that rise up6965 against us. 6 For I will not trust982 in my bow7198, neither shall my sword2719 save3467 me. 7 But thou hast saved3467 us from our enemies6862, and hast put them to shame954 that hated8130 us. 8 In God430 we boast1984 all the day3117 long, and praise3034 thy name8034 for ever5769.
