1 And when Balaam1109 saw7200 that it pleased5869 2895 the LORD3068 to bless1288 Israel3478, he went1980 not, as at other times6471, to seek7125 for enchantments5173, but he set7896 his face6440 toward the wilderness4057.¹ 2 And Balaam1109 lifted up5375 his eyes5869, and he saw7200 Israel3478 abiding7931 in his tents according to their tribes7626; and the spirit7307 of God430 came upon him. 3 And he took up5375 his parable4912, and said559, Balaam1109 the son1121 of Beor1160 hath said5002, and the man1397 whose eyes5869 are open8365 hath said5002:² 4 He hath said5002, which heard8085 the words561 of God410, which saw2372 the vision4236 of the Almighty7706, falling5307 into a trance, but having his eyes5869 open1540: 5 How goodly2895 are thy tents168, O Jacob3290, and thy tabernacles4908, O Israel3478! 6 As the valleys5158 are they spread forth5186, as gardens1593 by the river's side5104, as the trees of lign aloes174 which the LORD3068 hath planted5193, and as cedar trees730 beside the waters4325. 7 He shall pour5140 the water4325 out5140 of his buckets1805, and his seed2233 shall be in many7227 waters4325, and his king4428 shall be higher7311 than Agag90, and his kingdom4438 shall be exalted5375. 8 God410 brought him forth3318 out of Egypt4714; he hath as it were the strength8443 of an unicorn7214: he shall eat up398 the nations1471 his enemies6862, and shall break1633 their bones6106, and pierce4272 them through with his arrows2671. 9 He couched3766, he lay down7901 as a lion738, and as a great lion3833: who shall stir him up6965?
