10 And the children1121 of Israel3478 cried2199 unto the LORD3068, saying559, We have sinned2398 against thee, both because we have forsaken5800 our God430, and also served5647 Baalim1168. 11 And the LORD3068 said559 unto the children1121 of Israel3478, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians4714, and from the Amorites567, from the children1121 of Ammon5983, and from the Philistines6430? 12 The Zidonians6722 also, and the Amalekites6002, and the Maonites4584, did oppress3905 you; and ye cried6817 to me, and I delivered3467 you out of their hand3027. 13 Yet ye have forsaken5800 me, and served5647 other312 gods430: wherefore I will deliver3467 you no more3254. 14 Go3212 and cry2199 unto the gods430 which ye have chosen977; let them1992 deliver3467 you in the time6256 of your tribulation6869. 15 And the children1121 of Israel3478 said559 unto the LORD3068, We have sinned2398: do6213 thou unto us whatsoever seemeth5869 good2896 unto thee; deliver5337 us only, we pray thee, this day3117.⁴ 16 And they put away5493 the strange5236 gods430 from among7130 them, and served5647 the LORD3068: and his soul5315 was grieved7114 for the misery5999 of Israel3478.⁵⁶ 17 Then the children1121 of Ammon5983 were gathered together6817, and encamped2583 in Gilead1568. And the children1121 of Israel3478 assembled themselves together622, and encamped2583 in Mizpeh4709.⁷ 18 And the people5971 and princes8269 of Gilead1568 said559 one376 to another7453, What man376 is he that will begin2490 to fight3898 against the children1121 of Ammon5983? he shall be head7218 over all the inhabitants3427 of Gilead1568.
