1 Now Jericho3405 was straitly5462 shut up5462 because6440 of the children1121 of Israel3478: none went out3318, and none came in935.¹ 2 And the LORD3068 said559 unto Joshua3091, See7200, I have given5414 into thine hand3027 Jericho3405, and the king4428 thereof, and the mighty men1368 of valour2428. 3 And ye shall compass5437 the city5892, all ye men582 of war4421, and go round about5362 the city5892 once6471 259. Thus shalt thou do6213 six8337 days3117. 4 And seven7651 priests3548 shall bear5375 before6440 the ark727 seven7651 trumpets7782 of rams' horns3104: and the seventh7637 day3117 ye shall compass5437 the city5892 seven7651 times6471, and the priests3548 shall blow8628 with the trumpets7782. 5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long4900 blast with the ram's3104 horn7161, and when ye hear8085 the sound6963 of the trumpet7782, all the people5971 shall shout7321 with a great1419 shout8643; and the wall2346 of the city5892 shall fall down5307 flat8478, and the people5971 shall ascend up5927 every man376 straight before him.²

6 And Joshua3091 the son1121 of Nun5126 called7121 the priests3548, and said559 unto them, Take up5375 the ark727 of the covenant1285, and let seven7651 priests3548 bear5375 seven7651 trumpets7782 of rams' horns3104 before6440 the ark727 of the LORD3068. 7 And he said559 unto the people5971, Pass on5674, and compass5437 the city5892, and let him that is armed2502 pass on5674 before6440 the ark727 of the LORD3068. 8 And it came to pass, when Joshua3091 had spoken559 unto the people5971, that the seven7651 priests3548 bearing5375 the seven7651 trumpets7782 of rams' horns3104 passed on5674 before6440 the LORD3068, and blew8628 with the trumpets7782: and the ark727 of the covenant1285 of the LORD3068 followed1980 them310. 9 And the armed2502 men went1980 before6440 the priests3548 that blew8628 8628 with the trumpets7782, and the rereward622 came1980 after310 the ark727, the priests going on1980, and blowing8628 with the trumpets7782.³ 10 And Joshua3091 had commanded6680 the people5971, saying559, Ye shall not shout7321, nor make any noise8085 with your voice6963, neither shall any word1697 proceed3318 out of your mouth6310, until the day3117 I bid559 you shout7321; then shall ye shout7321.⁴ 11 So the ark727 of the LORD3068 compassed5437 the city5892, going about5362 it once6471 259: and they came935 into the camp4264, and lodged3885 in the camp4264. 12 And Joshua3091 rose early7925 in the morning1242, and the priests3548 took up5375 the ark727 of the LORD3068. 13 And seven7651 priests3548 bearing5375 seven7651 trumpets7782 of rams' horns3104 before6440 the ark727 of the LORD3068 went on1980 continually1980, and blew8628 with the trumpets7782: and the armed men2502 went1980 before6440 them; but the rereward622 came1980 after310 the ark727 of the LORD3068, the priests going on1980, and blowing8628 with the trumpets7782. 14 And the second8145 day3117 they compassed5437 the city5892 once6471 259, and returned7725 into the camp4264: so they did6213 six8337 days3117. 15 And it came to pass on the seventh7637 day3117, that they rose early7925 about the dawning5927 of the day7837, and compassed5437 the city5892 after the same manner4941 seven7651 times6471: only on that day3117 they compassed5437 the city5892 seven7651 times6471. 16 And it came to pass at the seventh7637 time6471, when the priests3548 blew8628 with the trumpets7782, Joshua3091 said559 unto the people5971, Shout7321; for the LORD3068 hath given5414 you the city5892.

17 And the city5892 shall be accursed2764, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD3068: only Rahab7343 the harlot2181 shall live2421, she and all that are with her in the house1004, because she hid2244 the messengers4397 that we sent7971.⁵ 18 And ye, in any wise7535 keep8104 yourselves from the accursed thing2764, lest ye make yourselves accursed2763, when ye take3947 of the accursed thing2764, and make7760 the camp4264 of Israel3478 a curse2764, and trouble5916 it.⁶⁷ 19 But all the silver3701, and gold2091, and vessels3627 of brass5178 and iron1270, are consecrated6944 unto the LORD3068: they shall come935 into the treasury214 of the LORD3068.⁸ 20 So the people5971 shouted7321 when the priests blew8628 with the trumpets7782: and it came to pass, when the people5971 heard8085 the sound6963 of the trumpet7782, and the people5971 shouted7321 with a great1419 shout8643, that the wall2346 fell down flat5307, so that the people5971 went up5927 into the city5892, every man376 straight before him, and they took3920 the city5892.⁹ 21 And they utterly destroyed2763 all that was in the city5892, both man376 and woman802, young5288 and old2205, and ox7794, and sheep7716, and ass2543, with the edge6310 of the sword2719. 22 But Joshua3091 had said559 unto the two8147 men582 that had spied out7270 the country776, Go935 into the harlot's2181 house1004, and bring out3318 thence the woman802, and all that she hath, as ye sware7650 unto her. 23 And the young men5288 that were spies7270 went in935, and brought out3318 Rahab7343, and her father1, and her mother517, and her brethren251, and all that she had; and they brought out3318 all her kindred4940, and left3240 them without2351 the camp4264 of Israel3478.¹⁰ 24 And they burnt8313 the city5892 with fire784, and all that was therein: only the silver3701, and the gold2091, and the vessels3627 of brass5178 and of iron1270, they put5414 into the treasury214 of the house1004 of the LORD3068. 25 And Joshua3091 saved2421 Rahab7343 the harlot2181 alive2421, and her father's1 household1004, and all that she had; and she dwelleth3427 in7130 Israel3478 even unto this day3117; because she hid2244 the messengers4397, which Joshua3091 sent7971 to spy out7270 Jericho3405. 26 And Joshua3091 adjured7650 them at that time6256, saying559, Cursed779 be the man376 before6440 the LORD3068, that riseth up6965 and buildeth1129 this city5892 Jericho3405: he shall lay the foundation3245 thereof in his firstborn1060, and in his youngest6810 son shall he set up5324 the gates1817 of it. 27 So the LORD3068 was with Joshua3091; and his fame8089 was noised throughout all the country776.
