1 And thou, son1121 of man120, take3947 thee a sharp2299 knife2719, take3947 thee a barber's1532 razor8593, and cause it to pass5674 upon thine head7218 and upon thy beard2206: then take3947 thee balances3976 to weigh4948, and divide2505 the hair. 2 Thou shalt burn1197 with fire217 a third part7992 in the midst8432 of the city5892, when the days3117 of the siege4692 are fulfilled4390: and thou shalt take3947 a third part7992, and smite5221 about5439 it with a knife2719: and a third part7992 thou shalt scatter2219 in the wind7307; and I will draw out7324 a sword2719 after310 them. 3 Thou shalt also take3947 thereof a few4592 in number4557, and bind6696 them in thy skirts3671.¹ 4 Then take of them again3947, and cast7993 them into the midst8432 of the fire784, and burn8313 them in the fire784; for thereof shall a fire784 come forth3318 into all the house1004 of Israel3478.

5 Thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069; This is Jerusalem3389: I have set7760 it in the midst8432 of the nations1471 and countries776 that are round about5439 her. 6 And she hath changed4784 my judgments4941 into wickedness7564 more than the nations1471, and my statutes2708 more than the countries776 that are round about5439 her: for they have refused3988 my judgments4941 and my statutes2708, they have not walked1980 in them. 7 Therefore thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069; Because ye multiplied1995 more than the nations1471 that are round about5439 you, and have not walked1980 in my statutes2708, neither have kept6213 my judgments4941, neither have done6213 according to the judgments4941 of the nations1471 that are round about5439 you; 8 Therefore thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute6213 judgments4941 in the midst8432 of thee in the sight5869 of the nations1471. 9 And I will do6213 in thee that which I have not done6213, and whereunto I will not do6213 any more the like, because3282 of all thine abominations8441. 10 Therefore the fathers1 shall eat398 the sons1121 in the midst8432 of thee, and the sons1121 shall eat398 their fathers1; and I will execute6213 judgments8201 in thee, and the whole remnant7611 of thee will I scatter2219 into all the winds7307. 11 Wherefore, as I live2416, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD3069; Surely, because thou hast defiled2930 my sanctuary4720 with all thy detestable things8251, and with all thine abominations8441, therefore will I also diminish1639 thee; neither shall mine eye5869 spare2347, neither will I have any pity2550. 12 A third part7992 of thee shall die4191 with the pestilence1698, and with famine7458 shall they be consumed3615 in the midst8432 of thee: and a third part7992 shall fall5307 by the sword2719 round about5439 thee; and I will scatter2219 a third part7992 into all the winds7307, and I will draw out7324 a sword2719 after310 them. 13 Thus shall mine anger639 be accomplished3615, and I will cause my fury2534 to rest5117 upon them, and I will be comforted5162: and they shall know3045 that I the LORD3068 have spoken1696 it in my zeal7068, when I have accomplished3615 my fury2534 in them. 14 Moreover I will make5414 thee waste2723, and a reproach2781 among the nations1471 that are round about5439 thee, in the sight5869 of all that pass by5674. 15 So it shall be a reproach2781 and a taunt1422, an instruction4148 and an astonishment4923 unto the nations1471 that are round about5439 thee, when I shall execute6213 judgments8201 in thee in anger639 and in fury2534 and in furious2534 rebukes8433. I the LORD3068 have spoken1696 it. 16 When I shall send7971 upon them the evil7451 arrows2671 of famine7458, which shall be for their destruction4889, and which I will send7971 to destroy7843 you: and I will increase3254 the famine7458 upon you, and will break7665 your staff4294 of bread3899: 17 So will I send7971 upon you famine7458 and evil7451 beasts2416, and they shall bereave7921 thee; and pestilence1698 and blood1818 shall pass through5674 thee; and I will bring935 the sword2719 upon thee.
