1 And the LORD3068 said1696 unto Moses4872, Depart3212, and go up5927 hence, thou and the people5971 which thou hast brought up5927 out of the land776 of Egypt4714, unto the land776 which I sware7650 unto Abraham85, to Isaac3327, and to Jacob3290, saying559, Unto thy seed2233 will I give5414 it: 2 And I will send7971 an angel4397 before6440 thee; and I will drive out1644 the Canaanite3669, the Amorite567, and the Hittite2850, and the Perizzite6522, the Hivite2340, and the Jebusite2983: 3 Unto a land776 flowing2100 with milk2461 and honey1706: for I will not go up5927 in the midst7130 of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked7186 6203 people5971: lest I consume3615 thee in the way1870. 4 And when the people5971 heard8085 these evil7451 tidings1697, they mourned56: and no man376 did put7896 on him his ornaments5716. 5 For the LORD3068 had said559 unto Moses4872, Say559 unto the children1121 of Israel3478, Ye are a stiffnecked7186 6203 people5971: I will come up5927 into the midst7130 of thee in a259 moment7281, and consume3615 thee: therefore now put off3381 thy ornaments5716 from thee, that I may know3045 what to do6213 unto thee. 6 And the children1121 of Israel3478 stripped5337 themselves of their ornaments5716 by the mount2022 Horeb2722.

7 And Moses4872 took3947 the tabernacle168, and pitched5186 it without2351 the camp4264, afar off7368 from the camp4264, and called7121 it the Tabernacle168 of the congregation4150. And it came to pass, that every one which sought1245 the LORD3068 went out3318 unto the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150, which was without2351 the camp4264. 8 And it came to pass, when Moses4872 went out3318 unto the tabernacle168, that all the people5971 rose up6965, and stood5324 every man376 at his tent168 door6607, and looked5027 after310 Moses4872, until he was gone935 into the tabernacle168. 9 And it came to pass, as Moses4872 entered935 into the tabernacle168, the cloudy6051 pillar5982 descended3381, and stood5975 at the door6607 of the tabernacle168, and the LORD talked1696 with Moses4872. 10 And all the people5971 saw7200 the cloudy6051 pillar5982 stand5975 at the tabernacle168 door6607: and all the people5971 rose up6965 and worshipped7812, every man376 in his tent168 door6607. 11 And the LORD3068 spake1696 unto Moses4872 face6440 to face6440, as a man376 speaketh1696 unto his friend7453. And he turned again7725 into the camp4264: but his servant8334 Joshua3091, the son1121 of Nun5126, a young man5288, departed4185 not out8432 of the tabernacle168.

12 And Moses4872 said559 unto the LORD3068, See7200, thou sayest559 unto me, Bring up5927 this people5971: and thou hast not let me know3045 whom thou wilt send7971 with me. Yet thou hast said559, I know3045 thee by name8034, and thou hast also found4672 grace2580 in my sight5869. 13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found4672 grace2580 in thy sight5869, shew3045 me now thy way1870, that I may know3045 thee, that I may find4672 grace2580 in thy sight5869: and consider7200 that this nation1471 is thy people5971. 14 And he said559, My presence6440 shall go3212 with thee, and I will give thee rest5117. 15 And he said559 unto him, If thy presence6440 go1980 not with me, carry us not up5927 hence. 16 For wherein shall it be known3045 here645 that I and thy people5971 have found4672 grace2580 in thy sight5869? is it not in that thou goest3212 with us? so shall we be separated6395, I and thy people5971, from all the people5971 that are upon the face6440 of the earth127. 17 And the LORD3068 said559 unto Moses4872, I will do6213 this thing1697 also that thou hast spoken1696: for thou hast found4672 grace2580 in my sight5869, and I know3045 thee by name8034. 18 And he said559, I beseech thee4994, shew7200 me thy glory3519. 19 And he said559, I will make all my goodness2898 pass5674 before thee, and I will proclaim7121 the name8034 of the LORD3068 before6440 thee; and will be gracious2603 to whom I will be gracious2603, and will shew mercy7355 on whom I will shew mercy7355. [Röm 9,15] 20 And he said559, Thou canst3201 not see7200 my face6440: for there shall no man120 see7200 me, and live2425. 21 And the LORD3068 said559, Behold, there is a place4725 by me, and thou shalt stand5324 upon a rock6697: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory3519 passeth by5674, that I will put7760 thee in a clift5366 of the rock6697, and will cover5526 thee with my hand3709 while5704 I pass by5674: 23 And I will take5493 away mine hand3709, and thou shalt see7200 my back parts268: but my face6440 shall not be seen7200.
