12 And the LORD3068 spake559 unto Moses4872, saying559, 13 Speak1696 thou also unto the children1121 of Israel3478, saying559, Verily389 my sabbaths7676 ye shall keep8104: for it is a sign226 between me and you throughout your generations1755; that ye may know3045 that I am the LORD3068 that doth sanctify6942 you. 14 Ye shall keep8104 the sabbath7676 therefore; for it is holy6944 unto you: every one that defileth2490 it shall surely4191 be put to death4191: for whosoever doeth6213 any work4399 therein, that soul5315 shall be cut off3772 from among7130 his people5971. 15 Six8337 days3117 may work4399 be done6213; but in the seventh7637 is the sabbath7676 of rest7677, holy6944 to the LORD3068: whosoever doeth6213 any work4399 in the sabbath7676 day3117, he shall surely4191 be put to death4191.⁴ 16 Wherefore the children1121 of Israel3478 shall keep8104 the sabbath7676, to observe6213 the sabbath7676 throughout their generations1755, for a perpetual5769 covenant1285. 17 It is a sign226 between me and the children1121 of Israel3478 for ever5769: for in six8337 days3117 the LORD3068 made6213 heaven8064 and earth776, and on the seventh7637 day3117 he rested7673, and was refreshed5314. 18 And he gave5414 unto Moses4872, when he had made an end3615 of communing1696 with him upon mount2022 Sinai5514, two8147 tables3871 of testimony5715, tables3871 of stone68, written3789 with the finger676 of God430.
