1 All the commandments4687 which I command6680 thee this day3117 shall ye observe8104 to do6213, that ye may live2421, and multiply7235, and go in935 and possess3423 the land776 which the LORD3068 sware7650 unto your fathers1. 2 And thou shalt remember2142 all the way1870 which the LORD3068 thy God430 led3212 thee these forty705 years8141 in the wilderness4057, to humble6031 thee, and to prove5254 thee, to know3045 what was in thine heart3824, whether thou wouldest keep8104 his commandments4687, or no. 3 And he humbled6031 thee, and suffered thee to hunger7456, and fed398 thee with manna4478, which thou knewest3045 not, neither did thy fathers1 know3045; that he might make thee know3045 that man120 doth not live2421 by bread3899 only905, but by every word that proceedeth4161 out of the mouth6310 of the LORD3068 doth man120 live2421. [Mt 4,4; Lk 4,4] 4 Thy raiment8071 waxed not old1086 upon thee, neither did thy foot7272 swell1216, these forty705 years8141. 5 Thou shalt also consider3045 in5973 thine heart3824, that, as a man376 chasteneth3256 his son1121, so the LORD3068 thy God430 chasteneth3256 thee. 6 Therefore thou shalt keep8104 the commandments4687 of the LORD3068 thy God430, to walk3212 in his ways1870, and to fear3372 him. 7 For the LORD3068 thy God430 bringeth935 thee into a good2896 land776, a land776 of brooks5158 of water4325, of fountains5869 and depths8415 that spring out3318 of valleys1237 and hills2022; 8 A land776 of wheat2406, and barley8184, and vines1612, and fig trees8384, and pomegranates7416; a land776 of oil8081 olive2132, and honey1706;¹ 9 A land776 wherein834 thou shalt eat398 bread3899 without3808 scarceness4544, thou shalt not lack2637 any thing in it; a land776 whose stones68 are iron1270, and out of whose hills2042 thou mayest dig2672 brass5178.

10 When thou hast eaten398 and art full7646, then thou shalt bless1288 the LORD3068 thy God430 for the good2896 land776 which he hath given5414 thee. 11 Beware8104 that thou forget7911 not the LORD3068 thy God430, in not keeping8104 his commandments4687, and his judgments4941, and his statutes2708, which I command6680 thee this day3117: 12 Lest when thou hast eaten398 and art full7646, and hast built1129 goodly2896 houses1004, and dwelt3427 therein; 13 And when thy herds1241 and thy flocks6629 multiply7235, and thy silver3701 and thy gold2091 is multiplied7235, and all that thou hast is multiplied7235; 14 Then thine heart3824 be lifted up7311, and thou forget7911 the LORD3068 thy God430, which brought thee forth3318 out of the land776 of Egypt4714, from the house1004 of bondage5650; 15 Who led3212 thee through that great1419 and terrible3372 wilderness4057, wherein were fiery8314 serpents5175, and scorpions6137, and drought6774, where there was no water4325; who brought thee forth3318 water4325 out of the rock6697 of flint2496; 16 Who fed398 thee in the wilderness4057 with manna4478, which thy fathers1 knew3045 not, that he might humble6031 thee, and that he might prove5254 thee, to do thee good3190 at thy latter end319; 17 And thou say559 in thine heart3824, My power3581 and the might6108 of mine hand3027 hath gotten6213 me this wealth2428. 18 But thou shalt remember2142 the LORD3068 thy God430: for it is he that giveth5414 thee power3581 to get6213 wealth2428, that he may establish6965 his covenant1285 which he sware7650 unto thy fathers1, as it is this day3117. 19 And it shall be, if thou do at all7911 forget7911 the LORD3068 thy God430, and walk1980 after310 other312 gods430, and serve5647 them, and worship7812 them, I testify5749 against you this day3117 that ye shall surely6 perish6. 20 As the nations1471 which the LORD3068 destroyeth6 before your face6440, so shall ye perish6; because6118 ye would not be obedient8085 unto the voice6963 of the LORD3068 your God430.
