1 When the LORD3068 thy God430 shall bring935 thee into the land776 whither thou goest935 to possess3423 it, and hath cast out5394 many7227 nations1471 before6440 thee, the Hittites2850, and the Girgashites1622, and the Amorites567, and the Canaanites3669, and the Perizzites6522, and the Hivites2340, and the Jebusites2983, seven7651 nations1471 greater7227 and mightier6099 than thou; 2 And when the LORD3068 thy God430 shall deliver5414 them before6440 thee; thou shalt smite5221 them, and utterly2763 destroy2763 them; thou shalt make3772 no covenant1285 with them, nor shew mercy2603 unto them: 3 Neither shalt thou make marriages2859 with them; thy daughter1323 thou shalt not give5414 unto his son1121, nor his daughter1323 shalt thou take3947 unto thy son1121. 4 For they will turn away5493 thy son1121 from following310 me, that they may serve5647 other312 gods430: so will the anger639 of the LORD3068 be kindled2734 against you, and destroy8045 thee suddenly4118. 5 But thus shall ye deal6213 with them; ye shall destroy5422 their altars4196, and break down7665 their images4676, and cut down1438 their groves842, and burn8313 their graven images6456 with fire784.¹ 6 For thou art an holy6918 people5971 unto the LORD3068 thy God430: the LORD3068 thy God430 hath chosen977 thee to be a special5459 people5971 unto himself, above all people5971 that are upon the face6440 of the earth127. 7 The LORD3068 did not set his love2836 upon you, nor choose977 you, because ye were more7230 in number than any people5971; for ye were the fewest4592 of all people5971: 8 But because the LORD3068 loved160 you, and because he would keep8104 the oath7621 which he had sworn7650 unto your fathers1, hath the LORD3068 brought you out3318 with a mighty2389 hand3027, and redeemed6299 you out of the house1004 of bondmen5650, from the hand3027 of Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt4714. 9 Know3045 therefore that the LORD3068 thy God430, he is God430, the faithful539 God410, which keepeth8104 covenant1285 and mercy2617 with them that love157 him and keep8104 his commandments4687 to a thousand505 generations1755; 10 And repayeth7999 them that hate8130 him to their face6440, to destroy6 them: he will not be slack309 to him that hateth8130 him, he will repay7999 him to his face6440. 11 Thou shalt therefore keep8104 the commandments4687, and the statutes2706, and the judgments4941, which I command6680 thee this day3117, to do6213 them.

12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if6118 ye hearken8085 to these judgments4941, and keep8104, and do6213 them, that the LORD3068 thy God430 shall keep8104 unto thee the covenant1285 and the mercy2617 which he sware7650 unto thy fathers1:² 13 And he will love157 thee, and bless1288 thee, and multiply7235 thee: he will also bless1288 the fruit6529 of thy womb990, and the fruit6529 of thy land127, thy corn1715, and thy wine8492, and thine oil3323, the increase7698 of thy kine504, and the flocks6251 of thy sheep6629, in the land127 which he sware7650 unto thy fathers1 to give5414 thee. 14 Thou shalt be blessed1288 above all people5971: there shall not be male6135 or female barren6135 among you, or among your cattle929. 15 And the LORD3068 will take away5493 from thee all sickness2483, and will put7760 none of the evil7451 diseases4064 of Egypt4714, which thou knowest3045, upon thee; but will lay5414 them upon all them that hate8130 thee. 16 And thou shalt consume398 all the people5971 which the LORD3068 thy God430 shall deliver5414 thee; thine eye5869 shall have no pity2347 upon them: neither shalt thou serve5647 their gods430; for that will be a snare4170 unto thee. 17 If thou shalt say559 in thine heart3824, These nations1471 are more7227 than I; how349 can3201 I dispossess3423 them? 18 Thou shalt not be afraid3372 of them: but shalt well2142 remember2142 what the LORD3068 thy God430 did6213 unto Pharaoh6547, and unto all Egypt4714; 19 The great1419 temptations4531 which thine eyes5869 saw7200, and the signs226, and the wonders4159, and the mighty2389 hand3027, and the stretched out5186 arm2220, whereby the LORD3068 thy God430 brought thee out3318: so shall the LORD3068 thy God430 do6213 unto all the people5971 of whom thou art afraid3373 6440. 20 Moreover the LORD3068 thy God430 will send7971 the hornet6880 among them, until they that are left7604, and hide5641 themselves from6440 thee, be destroyed6. 21 Thou shalt not be affrighted6206 at6440 them: for the LORD3068 thy God430 is among7130 you, a mighty1419 God410 and terrible3372. 22 And the LORD3068 thy God430 will put out5394 those411 nations1471 before6440 thee by little4592 and little4592: thou mayest3201 not consume3615 them at once4118, lest the beasts2416 of the field7704 increase7235 upon thee.³ 23 But the LORD3068 thy God430 shall deliver5414 them unto thee6440, and shall destroy1949 them with a mighty1419 destruction4103, until they be destroyed8045.⁴ 24 And he shall deliver5414 their kings4428 into thine hand3027, and thou shalt destroy6 their name8034 from under heaven8064: there shall no man376 be able to stand3320 before6440 thee, until thou have destroyed8045 them. 25 The graven images6456 of their gods430 shall ye burn8313 with fire784: thou shalt not desire2530 the silver3701 or gold2091 that is on them, nor take3947 it unto thee, lest thou be snared3369 therein: for it is an abomination8441 to the LORD3068 thy God430. 26 Neither shalt thou bring935 an abomination8441 into thine house1004, lest thou be a cursed thing2764 like it: but thou shalt utterly8262 detest8262 it, and thou shalt utterly8581 abhor8581 it; for it is a cursed thing2764.
