1 And Jehoshaphat3092 the king4428 of Judah3063 returned7725 to his house1004 in peace7965 to Jerusalem3389. 2 And Jehu3058 the son1121 of Hanani2607 the seer2374 went out3318 to meet6440 him, and said559 to king4428 Jehoshaphat3092, Shouldest thou help5826 the ungodly7563, and love157 them that hate8130 the LORD3068? therefore2063 is wrath7110 upon thee from before6440 the LORD3068. 3 Nevertheless61 there are good2896 things1697 found4672 in thee, in that thou hast taken away1197 the groves842 out of the land776, and hast prepared3559 thine heart3824 to seek1875 God430. 4 And Jehoshaphat3092 dwelt3427 at Jerusalem3389: and he went out3318 again7725 through the people5971 from Beersheba884 to mount2022 Ephraim669, and brought them back7725 unto the LORD3068 God430 of their fathers1.¹

5 And he set5975 judges8199 in the land776 throughout all the fenced1219 cities5892 of Judah3063, city5892 by city5892, 6 And said559 to the judges8199, Take heed7200 what ye do6213: for ye judge8199 not for man120, but for the LORD3068, who is with you in the judgment1697 4941.² 7 Wherefore now let the fear6343 of the LORD3068 be upon you; take heed8104 and do6213 it: for there is no iniquity5766 with the LORD3068 our God430, nor respect4856 of persons6440, nor taking4727 of gifts7810. 8 Moreover in Jerusalem3389 did Jehoshaphat3092 set5975 of the Levites3881, and of the priests3548, and of the chief7218 of the fathers1 of Israel3478, for the judgment4941 of the LORD3068, and for controversies7379, when they returned7725 to Jerusalem3389. 9 And he charged6680 them, saying559, Thus shall ye do6213 in the fear3374 of the LORD3068, faithfully530, and with a perfect8003 heart3824. 10 And what cause7379 soever shall come935 to you of your brethren251 that dwell3427 in their cities5892, between blood1818 and blood1818, between law8451 and commandment4687, statutes2706 and judgments4941, ye shall even warn2094 them that they trespass816 not against the LORD3068, and so wrath7110 come upon you, and upon your brethren251: this3541 do6213, and ye shall not trespass816. 11 And, behold, Amariah568 the chief7218 priest3548 is over you in all matters1697 of the LORD3068; and Zebadiah2069 the son1121 of Ishmael3458, the ruler5057 of the house1004 of Judah3063, for all the king's4428 matters1697: also the Levites3881 shall be officers7860 before6440 you. Deal6213 courageously2388, and the LORD3068 shall be with the good2896.³
