And Achish397 said559 unto the princes8269 of the Philistines6430, Is not this David1732, the servant5650 of Saul7586 the king4428 of Israel3478, which hath been with me these days3117, or these years8141, and I have found4672 no fault3972 in him since3117 he fell5307 unto me unto this day3117? 4 And the princes8269 of the Philistines6430 were wroth7107 with him; and the princes8269 of the Philistines6430 said559 unto him, Make7725 this fellow376 return7725, that he may go again7725 to his place4725 which thou hast appointed6485 him, and let him not go down3381 with us to battle4421, lest in the battle4421 he be an adversary7854 to us: for wherewith should he reconcile7521 himself unto his master113? should it not be with the heads7218 of these men582? 5 Is not this David1732, of whom they sang6030 one to another in dances4246, saying559, Saul7586 slew5221 his thousands505, and David1732 his ten thousands7233?

6 Then Achish397 called7121 David1732, and said559 unto him, Surely, as the LORD3068 liveth2416, thou hast been upright3477, and thy going out3318 and thy coming in935 with me in the host4264 is good2896 in my sight5869: for I have not found4672 evil7451 in thee since the day3117 of thy coming935 unto me unto this day3117: nevertheless the lords5633 favour2896 thee not5869.¹ 7 Wherefore now return7725, and go3212 in peace7965, that thou displease6213 7451 5869 not the lords5633 of the Philistines6430.² 8 And David1732 said559 unto Achish397, But what have I done6213? and what hast thou found4672 in thy servant5650 so long as3117 I have been with thee6440 unto this day3117, that I may not go935 fight3898 against the enemies341 of my lord113 the king4428?³ 9 And Achish397 answered6030 and said559 to David1732, I know3045 that thou art good2896 in my sight5869, as an angel4397 of God430: notwithstanding the princes8269 of the Philistines6430 have said559, He shall not go up5927 with us to the battle4421. 10 Wherefore now rise up early7925 in the morning1242 with thy master's113 servants5650 that are come935 with thee: and as soon as ye be up early7925 in the morning1242, and have light215, depart3212. 11 So David1732 and his men582 rose up early7925 to depart3212 in the morning1242, to return7725 into the land776 of the Philistines6430. And the Philistines6430 went up5927 to Jezreel3157.
