Nevertheless in the time6256 of his old age2209 he was diseased2470 in his feet7272. 24 And Asa609 slept7901 with his fathers1, and was buried6912 with his fathers1 in the city5892 of David1732 his father1: and Jehoshaphat3092 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.⁷

25 And Nadab5070 the son1121 of Jeroboam3379 began to reign4427 over Israel3478 in the second8147 year8141 of Asa609 king4428 of Judah3063, and reigned4427 over Israel3478 two8147 years8141.⁸ 26 And he did6213 evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068, and walked3212 in the way1870 of his father1, and in his sin2403 wherewith he made Israel3478 to sin2398. 27 And Baasha1201 the son1121 of Ahijah281, of the house1004 of Issachar3485, conspired7194 against him; and Baasha1201 smote5221 him at Gibbethon1405, which belonged to the Philistines6430; for Nadab5070 and all Israel3478 laid siege6696 to Gibbethon1405. 28 Even in the third7969 year8141 of Asa609 king4428 of Judah3063 did Baasha1201 slay4191 him, and reigned4427 in his stead. 29 And it came to pass, when he reigned4427, that he smote5221 all the house1004 of Jeroboam3379; he left7604 not to Jeroboam3379 any that breathed5397, until he had destroyed8045 him, according unto the saying1697 of the LORD3068, which he spake1696 by3027 his servant5650 Ahijah281 the Shilonite7888: 30 Because of the sins2403 of Jeroboam3379 which he sinned2398, and which he made Israel3478 sin2398, by his provocation3708 wherewith he provoked the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 to anger3707. 31 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Nadab5070, and all that he did6213, are they not written3789 in the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Israel3478? 32 And there was war4421 between Asa609 and Baasha1201 king4428 of Israel3478 all their days3117. 33 In the third7969 year8141 of Asa609 king4428 of Judah3063 began Baasha1201 the son1121 of Ahijah281 to reign4427 over all Israel3478 in Tirzah8656, twenty6242 and four702 years8141. 34 And he did6213 evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068, and walked3212 in the way1870 of Jeroboam3379, and in his sin2403 wherewith he made Israel3478 to sin2398.
