1 So they brought935 the ark727 of God430, and set3322 it in the midst8432 of the tent168 that David1732 had pitched5186 for it: and they offered7126 burnt sacrifices5930 and peace offerings8002 before6440 God430. 2 And when David1732 had made an end3615 of offering5927 the burnt offerings5930 and the peace offerings8002, he blessed1288 the people5971 in the name8034 of the LORD3068. 3 And he dealt2505 to every one376 of Israel3478, both man376 and woman802, to every one376 a loaf3603 of bread3899, and a good piece of flesh829, and a flagon809 of wine. 4 And he appointed5414 certain of the Levites3881 to minister8334 before6440 the ark727 of the LORD3068, and to record2142, and to thank3034 and praise1984 the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478: 5 Asaph623 the chief7218, and next4932 to him Zechariah2148, Jeiel3273, and Shemiramoth8070, and Jehiel3171, and Mattithiah4993, and Eliab446, and Benaiah1141, and Obededom5654: and Jeiel3273 with psalteries5035 3627 and with harps3658; but Asaph623 made a sound8085 with cymbals4700;¹ 6 Benaiah1141 also and Jahaziel3166 the priests3548 with trumpets2689 continually8548 before6440 the ark727 of the covenant1285 of God430.

37 So he left5800 there before6440 the ark727 of the covenant1285 of the LORD3068 Asaph623 and his brethren251, to minister8334 before6440 the ark727 continually8548, as every day's3117 work1697 required3117: 38 And Obededom5654 with their brethren251, threescore8346 and eight8083; Obededom5654 also the son1121 of Jeduthun3038 and Hosah2621 to be porters7778: 39 And Zadok6659 the priest3548, and his brethren251 the priests3548, before6440 the tabernacle4908 of the LORD3068 in the high place1116 that was at Gibeon1391, 40 To offer5927 burnt offerings5930 unto the LORD3068 upon the altar4196 of the burnt offering5930 continually8548 morning1242 and evening6153, and to do according to all that is written3789 in the law8451 of the LORD3068, which he commanded6680 Israel3478;⁴ 41 And with them Heman1968 and Jeduthun3038, and the rest7605 that were chosen1305, who were expressed5344 by name8034, to give thanks3034 to the LORD3068, because his mercy2617 endureth for ever5769; 42 And with them Heman1968 and Jeduthun3038 with trumpets2689 and cymbals4700 for those that should make a sound8085, and with musical7892 instruments3627 of God430. And the sons1121 of Jeduthun3038 were porters8179.⁵ 43 And all the people5971 departed3212 every man376 to his house1004: and David1732 returned5437 to bless1288 his house1004.
