1 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael taten wiederum was böse war in den AugenAugen JehovasJehovas; und JehovaJehova gab sie in die Hand der PhilisterPhilister vierzig JahreJahre.1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of Jehovah; and Jehovah gave them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.
2 Und es war ein MannMann aus ZorhaZorha, vom GeschlechtGeschlecht der DaniterDaniter, sein Name war Manoah1. Und sein Weib war unfruchtbar und gebar nicht.2 And there was a certain man of Zoreah, of the family of the Danites, and his name was Manoah. And his wife was barren and did not bear.
3 Und der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas erschien dem Weibe und sprach zu ihr: Siehe doch, du bist unfruchtbar und gebierst nicht; aber du wirst schwanger werden und einen SohnSohn gebären.3 And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold now, thou art barren and bearest not; but thou shalt conceive and bear a son.
4 Und nun hüte dich doch und trinke weder WeinWein noch starkes Getränk, und iß nichts Unreines!4 And now beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat nothing unclean.
5 Denn siehe, du wirst schwanger werden und einen SohnSohn gebären; und kein SchermesserSchermesser soll auf sein HauptHaupt kommen, denn ein Nasir2 GottesGottes soll der Knabe sein von Mutterleibe an; und er wird anfangen, IsraelIsrael aus der Hand der PhilisterPhilister zu retten.5 For lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son, and no razor shall come on his head; for the boy shall be a Nazarite of God from the womb; and he shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
6 Und das Weib kam und sprach zu ihrem ManneManne und sagte: Ein MannMann GottesGottes ist zu mir gekommen, und sein Ansehen war wie das Ansehen eines3 EngelsEngels GottesGottes, sehr furchtbar; und ich habe ihn nicht gefragt, woher er sei, und seinen NamenNamen hat er mir nicht kundgetan.6 And the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of an angel of God, very terrible; but I did not ask him whence he was, neither did he tell me his name.
7 Und er sprach zu mir: Siehe, du wirst schwanger werden und einen SohnSohn gebären; und nun, trinke weder WeinWein noch starkes Getränk, und iß nichts Unreines; denn ein Nasir GottesGottes soll der Knabe sein von Mutterleibe an bis zum TageTage seines TodesTodes.7 And he said to me, Behold, thou shalt conceive and bear a son; and now drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not anything unclean; for the boy shall be a Nazarite of God from the womb to the day of his death.
8 Da flehte ManoahManoah zu JehovaJehova und sprach: Bitte, HerrHerr! der MannMann GottesGottes, den du gesandt hast, möge doch nochmals zu uns kommen und uns lehren, was wir tun sollen mit dem Knaben, der geboren werden soll.8 Then Manoah prayed to Jehovah, and said, Ah Lord! let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, I pray thee, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
9 Und GottGott erhörte die Stimme ManoahsManoahs; und der Engel GottesEngel Gottes kam nochmals zu dem Weibe, als sie auf dem Felde saß, und ManoahManoah, ihr MannMann, nicht bei ihr war.9 And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the Angel of God came again to the woman whilst she sat in the field; but Manoah her husband was not with her.
10 Da eilte das Weib und lief und berichtete es ihrem ManneManne, und sie sprach zu ihm: Siehe, der MannMann ist mir erschienen, der an jenem TageTage zu mir gekommen ist.10 Then the woman hasted and ran, and informed her husband, and said to him, Behold, the man has appeared to me, that came to me that day.
11 Und ManoahManoah machte sich auf und ging seinem Weibe nach; und er kam zu dem ManneManne und sprach zu ihm: Bist du der MannMann, der zu dem Weibe geredet hat? Und er sprach: Ich bin's.11 And Manoah rose up and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, Art thou the man that didst speak to the woman? And he said, I am.
12 Und ManoahManoah sprach: Wenn nun dein WortWort eintrifft, was soll die WeiseWeise des Knaben sein und sein Tun?12 And Manoah said, When thy words then come to pass, what shall be the child's manner and his doing?
13 Und der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas sprach zu ManoahManoah: Vor allem was ich dem Weibe gesagt habe, soll sie sich hüten:13 And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware:
14 von allem was vom Weinstock kommt, soll sie nicht essen, und WeinWein und starkes Getränk soll sie nicht trinken, und soll nichts Unreines essen; alles was ich ihr geboten habe, soll sie beobachten.14 she shall not eat of anything that cometh of the vine, neither shall she drink wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean: all that I commanded her shall she observe.
15 Und ManoahManoah sprach zu dem EngelEngel JehovasJehovas: Laß dich doch von uns aufhalten, so wollen wir dir ein Ziegenböcklein zubereiten.15 And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, I pray thee, let us detain thee, and we will make ready a kid of the goats for thee.
16 Und der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas sprach zu ManoahManoah: Wenn du mich auch aufhieltest, ich würde nicht von deinem BroteBrote essen; willst du aber ein BrandopferBrandopfer opfern, so opfere es JehovaJehova. Denn ManoahManoah wußte nicht, daß es der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas war.16 And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Though thou shouldest detain me, I will not eat of thy bread; and if thou wilt offer a burnt-offering, thou shalt offer it up to Jehovah. For Manoah knew not that he was the Angel of Jehovah.
17 Und ManoahManoah sprach zu dem EngelEngel JehovasJehovas: Wie ist dein Name, daß wir dich ehren, wenn dein WortWort eintrifft?17 And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, What is thy name, that when thy word cometh to pass we may do thee honour?
18 Und der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas sprach zu ihm: Warum fragst du denn nach meinem NamenNamen? er ist ja wunderbar!18 And the Angel of Jehovah said to him, How is it that thou askest after my name, seeing it is wonderful?
19 Da nahm ManoahManoah das Ziegenböcklein und das SpeisopferSpeisopfer und opferte es JehovaJehova auf dem Felsen. Er aber handelte wunderbar4, und ManoahManoah und sein Weib sahen zu;19 Then Manoah took the kid and the oblation, and offered it up to Jehovah upon the rock. And he did wondrously, and Manoah and his wife looked on.
20 und es geschah, als die Flamme von dem AltarAltar gen HimmelHimmel emporstieg, da fuhr der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas in der Flamme des AltarsAltars hinauf. Und ManoahManoah und sein Weib sahen zu und fielen auf ihr Angesicht zur ErdeErde.20 And it came to pass, as the flame went up from off the altar towards the heavens, that the Angel of Jehovah ascended in the flame of the altar; and Manoah and his wife looked on, and fell on their faces to the ground.
21 Und der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas erschien ManoahManoah und seinem Weibe fortan nicht mehr. Da erkannte ManoahManoah, daß es der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas war.21 And the Angel of Jehovah appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that it was the Angel of Jehovah.
22 Und ManoahManoah sprach zu seinem Weibe: Wir werden gewißlich sterben, denn wir haben GottGott gesehen!22 And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
23 Aber sein Weib sprach zu ihm: Wenn es JehovaJehova gefallen hätte, uns zu töten, so hätte er nicht ein BrandopferBrandopfer und SpeisopferSpeisopfer aus unserer Hand angenommen, und er hätte uns dies alles nicht gezeigt, noch uns zu dieser ZeitZeit dergleichen vernehmen lassen.23 But his wife said to him, If Jehovah were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt-offering and an oblation at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would he at this time have told us such things as these.
24 Und das Weib gebar einen SohnSohn; und sie gab ihm den NamenNamen Simson5. Und der Knabe wuchs, und JehovaJehova segnete ihn.24 And the woman bore a son, and called his name Samson. And the child grew, and Jehovah blessed him.
25 Und der GeistGeist JehovasJehovas fing an ihn zu treiben zu Machaneh-Dan6 zwischen ZorhaZorha und EschtaolEschtaol.25 And the Spirit of Jehovah began to move him at Mahaneh-Dan, between Zoreah and Eshtaol.
