2 Besinget die HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit seines NamensNamens, machet herrlich sein LobLob!2 Sing forth the glory of his name, make his praise glorious;
3 Sprechet zu GottGott: Wie furchtbar sind deine WerkeWerke! Wegen der Größe deiner Stärke unterwerfen sich dir deine Feinde mit Schmeichelei2.3 Say unto God, How terrible are thy works! because of the greatness of thy strength, thine enemies come cringing unto thee.
4 Die ganze ErdeErde wird dich anbeten und dir PsalmenPsalmen singen; sie wird besingen deinen NamenNamen. (SelaSela.)4 All the earth shall worship thee, and sing psalms unto thee: they shall sing forth thy name. Selah.
5 Kommet und sehet die Großtaten GottesGottes; furchtbar ist er in seinem Tun gegen die Menschenkinder.5 Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doings toward the children of men.
6 Er wandelte das MeerMeer in trockenes Land, sie gingen zu Fuß durch den Strom; da3 freuten wir uns in ihm.6 He turned the sea into dry land ; they went through the river on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
7 Er herrscht durch seine MachtMacht auf ewig; seine AugenAugen beobachten die4 NationenNationen. - Daß sich nicht erheben die Widerspenstigen! (SelaSela.)7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes observe the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
8 Preiset, ihr Völker, unseren GottGott, und lasset hören die Stimme seines LobesLobes;8 Bless our God, ye peoples, and make the voice of his praise to be heard;
9 Der unsere SeeleSeele am LebenLeben erhalten5 und nicht zugelassen hat, daß unsere Füße wankten!9 Who hath set our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
10 Denn du hast uns geprüft, o GottGott, du hast uns geläutert, wie man SilberSilber läutert.10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
11 Du hast uns ins NetzNetz gebracht, hast eine drückende LastLast auf unsere LendenLenden gelegt.11 Thou broughtest us into a net, thou didst lay a heavy burden upon our loins;
12 Du hast Menschen reiten lassen auf unserem HaupteHaupte; wir sind ins FeuerFeuer und ins Wasser gekommen, aber du hast uns herausgeführt zu überströmender Erquickung6.12 Thou didst cause men to ride over our head; we went through fire and through water: but thou hast brought us out into abundance.
13 Ich will eingehen in dein HausHaus mit BrandopfernBrandopfern, will dir bezahlen meine GelübdeGelübde,13 I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings; I will perform my vows to thee,
14 Wozu sich weit aufgetan meine Lippen, und die mein Mund ausgesprochen hat in meiner BedrängnisBedrängnis.14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
15 BrandopferBrandopfer von Mastvieh will ich dir opfern samt RäucherwerkRäucherwerk von Widdern; RinderRinder samt Böcken will ich opfern. (SelaSela.)15 I will offer up unto thee burnt-offerings of fatted beasts, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.
16 Kommet, höret zu, alle die ihr GottGott fürchtet, und ich will erzählen, was er an meiner SeeleSeele getan hat.16 Come, hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
17 Zu ihm rief ich mit meinem Munde, und seine Erhebung war unter meiner Zunge.17 I called unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
18 Wenn ich es in meinem Herzen auf Frevel abgesehen hätte, so würde der HerrHerr nicht gehört haben.18 Had I regarded iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not hear.
19 Doch GottGott hat gehört, er hat gemerkt auf die Stimme meines GebetsGebets.19 But God hath heard; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Gepriesen sei GottGott, der nicht abgewiesen hat mein GebetGebet, noch von mir abgewandt seine Güte!20 Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his loving-kindness from me!
