2 Gott, du bist mein Gott¹! frühe suche ich dich. Es dürstet nach dir meine Seele, nach dir schmachtet mein Fleisch in einem dürren und lechzenden Lande ohne Wasser,

1 A Psalm of David; when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my *God; early will I seek thee. My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh languisheth for thee, in a dry and weary land without water:

3 - gleichwie ich dich angeschaut habe im Heiligtum - um deine Macht und deine Herrlichkeit zu sehen.

2 To see thy power and thy glory, as I have beheld thee in the sanctuary;

4 Denn deine Güte ist besser als Leben; meine Lippen werden dich rühmen.

3 For thy loving-kindness is better than life: my lips shall praise thee.

5 Also werde ich dich preisen während meines Lebens, meine Hände aufheben in deinem Namen.

4 So will I bless thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in thy name.

6 Wie von Mark und Fett wird gesättigt werden meine Seele, und mit jubelnden Lippen wird loben mein Mund,
