2 Und ich beorderte über JerusalemJerusalem meinen BruderBruder HananiHanani und HananjaHananja, den Obersten der BurgBurg; denn er war ein sehr treuer MannMann und gottesfürchtig vor vielen.2 And I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the citadel, charge over Jerusalem; for he was a faithful man and feared God above many.
3 Und ich sprach zu ihnen: Die ToreTore JerusalemsJerusalems sollen nicht eher geöffnet werden, als bis die SonneSonne heiß scheint; und während sie1 noch dastehen, soll man die Türflügel zumachen, und verschließet sie. Und ihr sollt Wachen aus den Bewohnern JerusalemsJerusalems aufstellen, den einen auf seine WacheWache und den anderen vor sein HausHaus.3 And I said to them that the gates of Jerusalem should not be opened until the sun was hot, and that they should shut the doors and bar them while they stood by; and that there should be appointed watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one over against his house.
4 Die Stadt aber war geräumig2 und groß, und das Volk darin spärlich, und keine Häuser waren gebaut.4 Now the city was large and great; but the people in it were few, and no houses were built.

Und ich fand das Geschlechtsverzeichnis derer, die zuerst heraufgezogen waren, und fand darin geschrieben:5 And my God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, for registration by genealogy. And I found a genealogical register of those that had come up at the first, and I found written in it:

64 Diese suchten ihr Geschlechtsregister-Verzeichnis, aber es wurde nicht gefunden; und sie wurden von dem PriestertumPriestertum als unrein ausgeschlossen.64 These sought their genealogical register, but it was not found; therefore were they, as polluted, removed from the priesthood.
65 Und der Tirsatha11 sprach zu ihnen, daß sie von dem Hochheiligen nicht essen dürften, bis ein PriesterPriester für die UrimUrim und die ThummimThummim aufstände.65 And the Tirshatha said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up the priest with Urim and Thummim.
