1 Und nach etlichen Tagen ging er wiederum hinein nach KapernaumKapernaum, und es wurde ruchbar, daß er im HauseHause sei.1 And he entered again into Capernaum after several days, and it was reported that he was at the house;
2 Und alsbald versammelten sich viele, so daß selbst an der TürTür nicht mehr Raum war; und er redete zu ihnen das WortWort.2 and straightway many were gathered together, so that there was no longer any room, not even at the door; and he spoke the word to them.
3 Und sie kommen zu ihm und bringen einen Gelähmten, von vieren getragen.3 And there come to him men bringing a paralytic, borne by four;
4 Und da sie wegen der Volksmenge nicht nahe zu ihm kommen konnten, deckten sie das Dach ab, wo er war; und als sie es aufgebrochen hatten, ließen sie das Ruhebett hinab, auf welchem der Gelähmte lag.4 and, not being able to get near to him on account of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was, and having dug it up they let down the couch on which the paralytic lay.
5 Als JesusJesus aber ihren Glauben sah, spricht er zu dem Gelähmten: Kind, deine Sünden sind vergebenvergeben.5 But Jesus, seeing their faith, says to the paralytic, Child, thy sins are forgiven thee .
6 Etliche aber von den Schriftgelehrten saßen daselbst und überlegten in ihren Herzen:6 But certain of the scribes were there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Was redet dieser also? er lästert. Wer kann Sünden vergebenvergeben, als nur einer, GottGott?7 Why does this man thus speak? he blasphemes. Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?
8 Und alsbald erkannte JesusJesus in seinem GeisteGeiste, daß sie also bei sich überlegten, und sprach zu ihnen: Was überleget ihr dies in euren Herzen?8 And straightway Jesus, knowing in his spirit that they are reasoning thus within themselves, said to them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Was ist leichter, zu dem Gelähmten zu sagen: Deine Sünden sind vergebenvergeben, oder zu sagen: Stehe auf, nimm dein Ruhebett auf und wandle?9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Thy sins are forgiven thee ; or to say, Arise, and take up thy couch and walk?
10 Auf daß ihr aber wisset, daß der Sohn des MenschenSohn des Menschen GewaltGewalt hat auf der ErdeErde Sünden zu vergebenvergeben ... spricht er zu dem Gelähmten:10 But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he says to the paralytic,
11 Ich sage dir, stehe auf, nimm dein Ruhebett auf und geh nach deinem HauseHause.11 To thee I say, Arise, take up thy couch and go to thine house.
12 Und alsbald stand er auf, nahm das Ruhebett auf und ging hinaus vor allen, so daß alle außer sich gerieten und GottGott verherrlichten und sagten: Niemals haben wir es also gesehen!12 And he rose up straightway, and, having taken up his couch, went out before them all, so that all were amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it thus.
13 Und er ging wiederum hinaus an den See, und die ganze Volksmenge kam zu ihm, und er lehrte sie.13 And he went out again by the sea, and all the crowd came to him, and he taught them.
14 Und als er vorüberging, sah er LeviLevi, den SohnSohn des AlphäusAlphäus, am ZollhauseZollhause sitzen, und er spricht zu ihm: Folge mir nach; und er stand auf und folgte ihm nach.14 And passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax-office, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.
15 Und es geschah, als er in seinem HauseHause zu Tische lag, daß viele ZöllnerZöllner und Sünder zu Tische lagen mit Jesu und seinen JüngernJüngern; denn es waren ihrer viele, und sie folgten ihm nach.15 And it came to pass as he lay at table in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners lay at table with Jesus and his disciples; for they were many, and they followed him.
16 Und als die Schriftgelehrten und die PharisäerPharisäer ihn mit den Sündern und ZöllnernZöllnern essen sahen, sprachen sie zu seinen JüngernJüngern: Warum ißt und trinkt er mit den ZöllnernZöllnern und Sündern?16 And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing him eating with sinners and tax-gatherers, said to his disciples, Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax-gatherers and sinners?
17 Und als JesusJesus es hörte, spricht er zu ihnen: Die Starken bedürfen nicht eines ArztesArztes, sondern die Kranken. Ich bin nicht gekommen, Gerechte zu rufen, sondern Sünder.17 And Jesus having heard it says to them, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those who are ill. I have not come to call righteous men , but sinners.
18 Und die JüngerJünger JohannesJohannes' und die PharisäerPharisäer fastetenfasteten; und sie kommen und sagen zu ihm: Warum fastenfasten die JüngerJünger JohannesJohannes' und die JüngerJünger der PharisäerPharisäer, deine JüngerJünger aber fastenfasten nicht?18 And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
19 Und JesusJesus sprach zu ihnen: Können etwa die Gefährten des Bräutigams1 fastenfasten, während der BräutigamBräutigam bei ihnen ist? So lange sie den BräutigamBräutigam bei sich haben, können sie nicht fastenfasten.19 And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bride-chamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
20 Es werden aber TageTage kommen, da der BräutigamBräutigam von ihnen weggenommen sein wird, und dann, an jenem TageTage, werden sie fastenfasten.20 But days will come when the bridegroom shall have been taken away from them, and then shall they fast in that day.
21 Niemand näht einen Flicken von neuem2 TuchTuch auf ein altes Kleid; sonst reißt das Eingesetzte von ihm ab, das neue vom alten, und der Riß wird ärger.21 No one sews a patch of new cloth on an old garment: otherwise its new filling-up takes from the old stuff , and there is a worse rent.
22 Auch tut niemand neuen WeinWein in alte Schläuche; sonst zerreißt der WeinWein die Schläuche, und der WeinWein wird verschüttet, und die Schläuche verderben; sondern neuen WeinWein muß man in neue Schläuche tun.22 And no one puts new wine into old skins; otherwise the wine bursts the skins, and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine is to be put into new skins.
23 Und es geschah, daß er am Sabbath durch die Saaten ging; und seine JüngerJünger fingen an, im Gehen die Ähren abzupflücken.23 And it came to pass that he went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples began to walk on, plucking the ears.
24 Und die PharisäerPharisäer sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, was tun sie am Sabbath, das nicht erlaubt ist?24 And the Pharisees said to him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath what is not lawful?
25 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr nie gelesen, was DavidDavid tat, als er Mangel hatte und als ihn und die bei ihm waren hungerte?25 And he said to them, Have ye never read what David did when he had need and hungered, he and those with him,
26 wie er in das Haus GottesHaus Gottes ging unter AbjatharAbjathar, dem Hohenpriester, und die SchaubroteSchaubrote aß, (welche niemand essen darf, als nur die PriesterPriester) und auch denen gab, die bei ihm waren?26 how he entered into the house of God, in the section of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the shew-bread, which it is not lawful unless for the priests to eat, and gave even to those that were with him?
27 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Der Sabbath ward um des Menschen willen, nicht der MenschMensch um des Sabbaths willen;27 And he said to them, The sabbath was made on account of man, not man on account of the sabbath;
28 also ist der Sohn des MenschenSohn des Menschen HerrHerr auch des Sabbaths.28 so that the Son of man is lord of the sabbath also.
