1 Es nahte aber das Fest der ungesäuerten BroteFest der ungesäuerten Brote, welches PassahPassah genannt wird.1 Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the passover, drew nigh,
2 Und die Hohenpriester und die Schriftgelehrten suchten, wie sie ihn umbrächten, denn sie fürchteten das Volk.2 and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3 Aber SatanSatan fuhr in JudasJudas, der IskariotIskariot zubenamt ist, welcher aus der Zahl der Zwölfe war.3 And Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariote, being of the number of the twelve.
4 Und er ging hin und besprach sich mit den Hohenpriestern und Hauptleuten, wie er ihn denselben überliefere.4 And he went away and spoke with the chief priests and captains as to how he should deliver him up to them.
5 Und sie waren erfreut und kamen überein, ihm GeldGeld zu geben.5 And they were rejoiced, and agreed to give him money.
6 Und er versprach es und suchte eine Gelegenheit, um ihn denselben zu überliefern ohne Volksauflauf1.6 And he came to an agreement to do it, and sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them away from the crowd.
7 Es kam aber der TagTag der ungesäuerten BroteBrote, an welchem das PassahPassah geschlachtet werden mußte.7 And the day of unleavened bread came, in which the passover was to be killed.
8 Und er sandte PetrusPetrus und JohannesJohannes und sprach: Gehet hin und bereitet uns das PassahPassah, auf daß wir es essen.8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the passover for us, that we may eat it .
9 Sie aber sprachen zu ihm: Wo willst du, daß wir es bereiten?9 But they said to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare it ?
10 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, wenn ihr in die Stadt kommet, wird euch ein MenschMensch begegnen, der einen KrugKrug Wasser trägt; folget ihm in das HausHaus, wo er hineingeht.10 And he said to them, Behold, as ye enter into the city a man will meet you, carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goes in;
11 Und ihr sollt zu dem HerrnHerrn des Hauses sagen: Der LehrerLehrer sagt dir: Wo ist das GastzimmerGastzimmer, wo ich mit meinen JüngernJüngern das PassahPassah essen mag?11 and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher says to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
12 Und jener wird euch einen großen, mit Polstern belegten Obersaal zeigen; daselbst bereitet.12 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 Als sie aber hingingen, fanden sie es, wie er ihnen gesagt hatte; und sie bereiteten das PassahPassah.13 And having gone they found it as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover.
14 Und als die StundeStunde gekommen war, legte er sich zu Tische, und die [zwölf] ApostelApostel mit ihm.14 And when the hour was come, he placed himself at table, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Mit Sehnsucht habe ich mich gesehnt, dieses PassahPassah mit euch zu essen, ehe ich leide.15 And he said to them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.
16 Denn ich sage euch, daß ich hinfort nicht mehr davon essen werde, bis es erfüllt sein wird im ReicheReiche GottesGottes.16 For I say unto you, that I will not eat any more at all of it until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 Und er nahm einen KelchKelch, dankte und sprach: Nehmet diesen und teilet ihn unter euch.17 And having received a cup, when he had given thanks he said, Take this and divide it among yourselves.
18 Denn ich sage euch, daß ich nicht von dem Gewächs des Weinstocks trinken werde, bis das Reich GottesReich Gottes komme.18 For I say unto you, that I will not drink at all of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God come.
19 Und er nahm BrotBrot, dankte, brach und gab es ihnen und sprach: Dies ist mein Leib, der für euch gegeben wird; dieses tut zu meinem Gedächtnis!19 And having taken a loaf, when he had given thanks, he broke it , and gave it to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Desgleichen auch den KelchKelch nach dem Mahle und sagte: Dieser KelchKelch ist der neue BundBund in meinem BluteBlute, das für euch vergossen wird.20 In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
21 Doch siehe, die Hand dessen, der mich überliefert, ist mit mir über Tische.21 Moreover, behold, the hand of him that delivers me up is with me on the table;
22 Und der Sohn des MenschenSohn des Menschen geht zwar dahin, wie es beschlossen ist; wehe aber jenem Menschen, durch welchen er überliefert wird!22 and the Son of man indeed goes as it is determined, but woe unto that man by whom he is delivered up.
23 Und sie fingen an, sich untereinander zu befragen, wer es wohl von ihnen sein möchte, der dies tun werde.23 And they began to question together among themselves who then it could be of them who was about to do this.
24 Es entstand aber auch ein StreitStreit unter ihnen, wer von ihnen für den Größten2 zu halten sei.24 And there was also a strife among them which of them should be held to be the greatest.
25 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Die KönigeKönige der NationenNationen herrschen über dieselben, und die GewaltGewalt über sie üben werden WohltäterWohltäter genannt.25 And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule over them, and they that exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
26 Ihr aber nicht also; sondern der Größte unter euch sei wie der Jüngste3, und der Leiter wie der Dienende.26 But ye shall not be thus; but let the greater among you be as the younger, and the leader as he that serves.
27 Denn wer ist größer, der zu Tische Liegende oder der Dienende? Nicht der zu Tische Liegende? Ich aber bin in eurer Mitte wie der Dienende.27 For which is greater, he that is at table or he that serves? Is not he that is at table? But I am in the midst of you as the one that serves.
28 Ihr aber seid es, die mit mir ausgeharrt haben in meinen VersuchungenVersuchungen;28 But ye are they who have persevered with me in my temptations.
29 und ich verordne euch, gleichwie mein VaterVater mir verordnet hat, ein ReichReich,29 And I appoint unto you, as my Father has appointed unto me, a kingdom,
30 auf daß ihr esset und trinket an meinem Tische in meinem ReicheReiche und auf Thronen sitzet, richtend die zwölf StämmeStämme IsraelsIsraels.30 that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 Der HerrHerr aber sprach: SimonSimon, SimonSimon! siehe, der SatanSatan hat euer begehrt, euch zu sichten wie den WeizenWeizen.31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, to sift you as wheat;
32 Ich aber habe für dich gebetetgebetet, auf daß dein GlaubeGlaube nicht aufhöre; und du, bist du einst zurückgekehrt, so stärke deine BrüderBrüder.32 but I have besought for thee that thy faith fail not; and thou, when once thou hast been restored, confirm thy brethren.
33 Er aber sprach zu ihm: HerrHerr, mit dir bin ich bereit auch ins GefängnisGefängnis und in den TodTod zu gehen.33 And he said to him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
34 Er aber sprach: Ich sage dir, PetrusPetrus, der HahnHahn wird heute nicht krähen, ehe du dreimal geleugnet hast, daß du mich kennest.34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow to-day before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Als ich euch ohne Börse und TascheTasche und SandalenSandalen sandte, mangelte euch wohl etwas? Sie aber sagten: Nichts.35 And he said to them, When I sent you without purse and scrip and sandals, did ye lack anything? And they said, Nothing.
36 Er sprach nun zu ihnen: Aber jetzt, wer eine Börse hat, der nehme sie und gleicherweise eine TascheTasche, und wer keine hat, verkaufe sein Kleid und kaufe ein SchwertSchwert;36 He said therefore to them, But now he that has a purse let him take it , in like manner also a scrip, and he that has none let him sell his garment and buy a sword;
37 denn ich sage euch, daß noch dieses, was geschrieben steht, an mir erfüllt werden muß: „Und er ist unter die Gesetzlosen gerechnet worden“;4 denn auch das, was mich betrifft, hat eine Vollendung.37 for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned with the lawless: for also the things concerning me have an end.
38 Sie aber sprachen: HerrHerr, siehe, hier sind zwei SchwerterSchwerter. Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Es ist genug.38 And they said, Lord, behold here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.
39 Und er ging hinaus und begab sich der Gewohnheit nach an den Ölberg; es folgten ihm aber auch die JüngerJünger.39 And going forth he went according to his custom to the mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed him.
40 Als er aber an den Ort gekommen war, sprach er zu ihnen: Betet, daß ihr nicht in VersuchungVersuchung kommet.40 And when he was at the place he said to them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 Und er zog sich ungefähr einen Steinwurf weit von ihnen zurück und kniete nieder, betetebetete41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and having knelt down he prayed,
42 und sprach: VaterVater, wenn du diesen KelchKelch von mir wegnehmen willst - doch nicht mein Wille, sondern der deine geschehe!42 saying, Father, if thou wilt remove this cup from me: --but then, not my will, but thine be done.
43 Es erschien ihm aber ein EngelEngel vom HimmelHimmel, der ihn stärkte.43 And an angel appeared to him from heaven strengthening him.
44 Und als er in ringendem KampfeKampfe war, betetebetete er heftiger. Es wurde aber sein Schweiß wie große Blutstropfen, die auf die ErdeErde herabfielen.44 And being in conflict he prayed more intently. And his sweat became as great drops of blood, falling down upon the earth.
45 Und er stand auf vom GebetGebet, kam zu den JüngernJüngern und fand sie eingeschlafen vor Traurigkeit.45 And rising up from his prayer, coming to the disciples, he found them sleeping from grief.
46 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was schlafet ihr? Stehet auf und betetbetet, auf daß ihr nicht in VersuchungVersuchung kommet.46 And he said to them, Why sleep ye? rise up and pray that ye enter not into temptation.
47 Während er noch redete, siehe, da kam eine Volksmenge, und der, welcher JudasJudas genannt war, einer der Zwölfe, ging vor ihnen her und nahte Jesu, um ihn zu küssen.47 As he was yet speaking, behold, a crowd, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went on before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him.
48 JesusJesus aber sprach zu ihm: JudasJudas, überlieferst du den Sohn des MenschenSohn des Menschen mit einem Kuß?48 And Jesus said to him, Judas, deliverest thou up the Son of man with a kiss?
49 Als aber die, welche um ihn waren, sahen, was es werden würde, sprachen sie [zu ihm]: HerrHerr, sollen wir mit dem SchwerteSchwerte dreinschlagen?49 And they who were around him, seeing what was going to follow, said to him , Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 Und einer aus ihnen schlug den Knecht5 des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm das rechte OhrOhr ab.50 And a certain one from among them smote the bondman of the high priest and took off his right ear.
51 JesusJesus aber antwortete und sprach: Lasset es so weit; und er rührte sein OhrOhr an und heilte ihn.51 And Jesus answering said, Suffer thus far; and having touched his ear, he healed him.
52 JesusJesus aber sprach zu den Hohenpriestern und Hauptleuten des Tempels6 und Ältesten, die wider ihn gekommen waren: Seid ihr ausgezogen wie gegen einen RäuberRäuber, mit SchwerternSchwertern und Stöcken?52 And Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders, who were come against him, Have ye come out as against a robber with swords and sticks?
53 Als ich täglich bei euch im Tempel7 war, habt ihr die Hände nicht gegen mich ausgestreckt; aber dies ist eure StundeStunde und die GewaltGewalt der FinsternisFinsternis.53 When I was day by day with you in the temple ye did not stretch out your hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of darkness.
54 Sie ergriffen ihn aber und führten ihn hin und brachten ihn in das HausHaus des Hohenpriesters. PetrusPetrus aber folgte von ferne.54 And having laid hold on him, they led him away , and they led him into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed afar off.
55 Als sie aber mitten im Hofe ein FeuerFeuer angezündet und sich zusammengesetzt hatten, setzte sich PetrusPetrus in ihre Mitte.55 And they having lit a fire in the midst of the court and sat down together, Peter sat among them.
56 Es sah ihn aber eine gewisse MagdMagd bei dem FeuerFeuer sitzen und blickte ihn unverwandt an und sprach: Auch dieser war mit ihm.56 And a certain maid, having seen him sitting by the light, and having fixed her eyes upon him, said, And this man was with him.
57 Er aber verleugnete [ihn] und sagte: Weib, ich kenne ihn nicht.57 But he denied him , saying, Woman, I do not know him.
58 Und kurz danach sah ihn ein anderer und sprach: Auch du bist einer von ihnen. PetrusPetrus aber sprach: MenschMensch, ich bin's nicht.58 And after a short time another seeing him said, And thou art of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 Und nach Verlauf von etwa einer StundeStunde behauptete ein anderer und sagte: In WahrheitWahrheit, auch dieser war mit ihm, denn er ist auch ein GaliläerGaliläer.59 And after the lapse of about one hour another stoutly maintained it, saying, In truth this man also was with him, for also he is a Galilaean.
60 PetrusPetrus aber sprach: MenschMensch, ich weiß nicht, was du sagst. Und alsbald, während er noch redete, krähte der HahnHahn.60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, the cock crew.
61 Und der HerrHerr wandte sich um und blickte PetrusPetrus an; und PetrusPetrus gedachte an das WortWort des HerrnHerrn, wie er zu ihm sagte: EheEhe der HahnHahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen.61 And the Lord, turning round, looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him, Before the cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 Und PetrusPetrus ging hinaus und weinte bitterlich.62 And Peter, going forth without, wept bitterly.
63 Und die Männer, die ihn festhielten, verspotteten und schlugen ihn.63 And the men who held him mocked him, beating him ;
64 Und als sie ihn verhüllt hatten, fragten sie ihn und sprachen: Weissage, wer ist es, der dich schlug?64 and covering him up, asked him saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?
65 Und vieles andere sagten sie lästernd gegen ihn.65 And they said many other injurious things to him.
66 Und als es TagTag wurde, versammelte sich die Ältestenschaft des Volkes, sowohl HohepriesterHohepriester als SchriftgelehrteSchriftgelehrte, und führten ihn hin in ihr SynedriumSynedrium66 And when it was day, the elderhood of the people, both the chief priests and scribes, were gathered together, and led him into their council, saying,
67 und sagten: Wenn du der ChristusChristus bist, so sage es uns. Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wenn ich es euch sagte, so würdet ihr nicht glauben;67 If thou art the Christ, tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not at all believe;
68 wenn ich aber fragen würde, so würdet ihr mir nicht antworten, [noch mich loslassen].68 and if I should ask you , ye would not answer me at all, nor let me go;
69 Von nun an aber wird der Sohn des MenschenSohn des Menschen sitzen zur Rechten der MachtMacht GottesGottes.69 but henceforth shall the Son of man be sitting on the right hand of the power of God.
70 Sie sprachen aber alle: Du bist also der Sohn GottesSohn Gottes? Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Ihr saget, daß ich es bin.70 And they all said, Thou then art the Son of God? And he said to them, Ye say that I am.
71 Sie aber sprachen: Was bedürfen wir noch ZeugnisZeugnis? denn wir selbst haben es aus seinem Munde gehört.71 And they said, What need have we any more of witness, for we have heard ourselves out of his mouth?
