1 Und dies ist es, was die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael als ErbeErbe im Lande KanaanKanaan erhielten, was EleasarEleasar, der PriesterPriester, und JosuaJosua, der SohnSohn Nuns, und die Häupter der Väter1 der StämmeStämme der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael ihnen als ErbeErbe austeilten, durch das Los ihres ErbteilsErbteils;1 And this is what the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, allotted for inheritance to them:
2 so wie JehovaJehova durch MoseMose geboten hatte betreffs der neun StämmeStämme und des halben Stammes.2 their inheritance was by lot, as Jehovah had commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and the half tribe.
3 Denn das ErbteilErbteil der zwei StämmeStämme und des halben Stammes hatte MoseMose jenseit des JordanJordan gegeben; den LevitenLeviten aber hatte er kein ErbteilErbteil in ihrer Mitte gegeben.3 For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half tribe beyond the Jordan, but to the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.
4 Denn die Söhne JosephsJosephs bildeten zwei StämmeStämme, ManasseManasse und EphraimEphraim; und man gab den LevitenLeviten kein Teil im Lande, außer Städten zum Wohnen und deren Bezirken für ihr ViehVieh und für ihre Habe.4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim; and they gave no part to the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
5 So wie JehovaJehova dem MoseMose geboten hatte, also taten die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael, und sie teilten das Land.5 As Jehovah had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
6 Und die KinderKinder JudaJuda traten in GilgalGilgal zu JosuaJosua; und KalebKaleb, der SohnSohn JephunnesJephunnes, der KenisiterKenisiter, sprach zu ihm: Du kennst das WortWort, welches JehovaJehova zu MoseMose, dem ManneManne GottesGottes, meinet- und deinetwegen in Kades-BarneaKades-Barnea geredet hat.6 Then the children of Judah came near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, Thou knowest the word that Jehovah spoke to Moses the man of God, concerning me and thee, in Kadesh-barnea.
7 VierzigVierzig JahreJahre war ich alt, als MoseMose, der KnechtKnecht JehovasJehovas, mich von Kades-BarneaKades-Barnea aussandte, um das Land auszukundschaften; und ich brachte ihm Antwort, wie es mir ums HerzHerz war.7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of Jehovah sent me from Kadesh-barnea to search out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
8 Und meine BrüderBrüder, die mit mir hinaufgezogen waren, machten das HerzHerz des Volkes verzagt; ich aber bin JehovaJehova, meinem GottGott, völlig nachgefolgt.8 And my brethren that had gone up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Jehovah my God.
9 Da schwur MoseMose an selbigem TageTage und sprach: Wenn nicht das Land, auf welches dein Fuß getreten ist, dir und deinen Söhnen zum ErbteilErbteil wird ewiglich! denn du bist JehovaJehova, meinem GottGott, völlig nachgefolgt.9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, The land whereon thy feet have trodden shall assuredly be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever! for thou hast wholly followed Jehovah my God.
10 Und nun siehe, JehovaJehova hat mich am LebenLeben erhalten, so wie er geredet hat, diese fünfundvierzig JahreJahre, seitdem JehovaJehova dieses WortWort zu MoseMose geredet hat, als IsraelIsrael in der WüsteWüste umherwanderte; und nun siehe, ich bin heute fünfundachtzig JahreJahre alt.10 And now behold, Jehovah has kept me alive, as he said, these forty-five years, since Jehovah spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now behold, I am this day eighty-five years old.
11 Ich bin heute noch so stark wie an dem TageTage, da MoseMose mich aussandte; wie meine KraftKraft damals, so ist meine KraftKraft jetzt zum StreiteStreite und um aus- und einzuziehen.11 I am still this day strong, as in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out and to come in.
12 Und nun gib mir dieses GebirgeGebirge, von welchem JehovaJehova an jenem TageTage geredet hat; denn du hast an jenem TageTage gehört, daß die EnakimEnakim daselbst sind und große, feste Städte. Vielleicht ist JehovaJehova mit mir, daß ich sie austreibe, so wie JehovaJehova geredet hat.12 And now give me this mountain, of which Jehovah spoke in that day; for thou heardest in that day that Anakim are there, and great fortified cities. If so be Jehovah shall be with me, then I shall dispossess them, as Jehovah said.
13 Und JosuaJosua segnete ihn und gab dem KalebKaleb, dem SohneSohne JephunnesJephunnes, HebronHebron zum ErbteilErbteil.13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
14 Daher ward HebronHebron dem KalebKaleb, dem SohneSohne JephunnesJephunnes, dem KenisiterKenisiter, zum ErbteilErbteil bis auf diesen TagTag, weil er JehovaJehova, dem GottGott IsraelsIsraels, völlig nachgefolgt war.14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed Jehovah the God of Israel.
15 Der Name HebronsHebrons war aber vordem: Stadt Arbas2; er war der größte MannMann unter den EnakimEnakim. - Und das Land hatte RuheRuhe vom KriegeKriege.15 Now the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-Arba; the great man among the Anakim. And the land rested from war.
