And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

4 ELB 1932: Jes. 20,4 also wird der König von AssyrienAssyrien die Gefangenen Ägyptens und die Weggeführten Äthiopiens hinwegtreiben, Jünglinge und Greise, nackt und barfuß und mit entblößtem Gesäß, zur Schande Ägyptens.	4 Old Darby (EN): Isa. 20,4 so shall the king of Assyria lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Ethiopia, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
5 ELB 1932: Jes. 20,5 Und sie werden bestürzt und beschämt sein wegen Äthiopiens, ihrer ZuversichtZuversicht, und wegen Ägyptens, ihres Ruhmes.	5 Old Darby (EN): Isa. 20,5 And they shall be terrified and ashamed of Ethiopia their confidence, and of Egypt their boast.
6 ELB 1932: Jes. 20,6 Und die Bewohner dieses Küstenlandes³ werden an jenem TageTage sprechen: Siehe, also ist es mit unserer ZuversichtZuversicht, wohin wir um Hilfe flohen, um vor dem KönigeKönige von AssyrienAssyrien errettet zu werden! und wie sollten wir entrinnen?	6 Old Darby (EN): Isa. 20,6 And the inhabitants of this coast shall say in that day, Behold, such is our confidence, whither we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and how shall we escape?

1 In dem Jahre, da der Tartan¹ nach Asdod kam, als Sargon, der König von Assyrien, ihn gesandt hatte, und er wider Asdod stritt und es einnahm:

1 In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, (and he fought against Ashdod and took it,)

2 in dieser Zeit redete Jehova durch Jesaja, den Sohn Amoz', und sprach: Geh und löse das Sacktuch von deinen Lenden und ziehe deine Sandalen von deinen Füßen. Und er tat also, ging nackt² und barfuß.

3 Und Jehova sprach: Gleichwie mein Knecht Jesaja nackt und barfuß gegangen ist, drei Jahre lang ein Zeichen und Vorbild betreffs Ägyptens und betreffs Äthiopiens:

3 And Jehovah said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder concerning Egypt and concerning Ethiopia,
