1 Und es geschah im vierten JahreJahre JojakimsJojakims, des SohnesSohnes JosiasJosias, des Königs von JudaJuda, da geschah dieses WortWort von seiten JehovasJehovas zu JeremiaJeremia also:1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,
2 Nimm dir eine BuchrolleBuchrolle und schreibe darauf alle die WorteWorte, welche ich zu dir geredet habe über IsraelIsrael und über JudaJuda und über alle NationenNationen, von dem TageTage an, da ich zu dir geredet habe, von den Tagen JosiasJosias an bis auf diesen TagTag.2 Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
3 Vielleicht wird das HausHaus JudaJuda auf all das Böse hören, welches ich ihnen zu tun gedenke, damit sie umkehren, ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege, und ich ihre Missetat1 und ihre SündeSünde vergebe. -3 It may be the house of Judah will hear all the evil that I purpose to do unto them, that they may return every man from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
4 Und JeremiaJeremia rief BarukBaruk, den SohnSohn NerijasNerijas; und BarukBaruk schrieb aus dem Munde JeremiasJeremias auf eine BuchrolleBuchrolle alle die WorteWorte JehovasJehovas, welche er zu ihm geredet hatte.4 And Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Nerijah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Jehovah, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
5 Und JeremiaJeremia gebot BarukBaruk und sprach: Ich bin verhindert, ich kann nicht in das HausHaus JehovasJehovas gehen;5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up, I cannot go into the house of Jehovah; but go thou in,
6 so geh du hin und lies aus der Rolle, was du aus meinem Munde aufgeschrieben hast, die WorteWorte JehovasJehovas, vor den Ohren des Volkes im HauseHause JehovasJehovas am TageTage des FastensFastens; und du sollst sie auch vor den Ohren aller Juden2 lesen, die aus ihren Städten kommen.6 and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Jehovah in the ears of the people in the house of Jehovah upon the fast day; and thou shalt also read them in the ears of all Judah that come from their cities.
7 Vielleicht wird ihr FlehenFlehen vor JehovaJehova kommen3, so daß sie umkehren, ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege; denn groß ist der ZornZorn und der Grimm, den JehovaJehova über dieses Volk ausgesprochen hat.7 It may be they will present their supplication before Jehovah, and that they will return every one from his evil way; for great is the anger and the fury that Jehovah hath pronounced against this people.
8 Und BarukBaruk, der SohnSohn NerijasNerijas, tat nach allem was der ProphetProphet JeremiaJeremia ihm geboten hatte, indem er aus dem BucheBuche die WorteWorte JehovasJehovas im HauseHause JehovasJehovas vorlas.8 And Baruch the son of Nerijah did according to all that the prophet Jeremiah commanded him, reading in the book the words of Jehovah in Jehovah's house.
9 Und es geschah im fünften JahreJahre JojakimsJojakims, des SohnesSohnes JosiasJosias, des Königs von JudaJuda, im neunten Monat, da rief man allem Volke in JerusalemJerusalem und allem Volke, das aus den Städten JudasJudas nach JerusalemJerusalem kam, ein FastenFasten aus vor JehovaJehova.9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before Jehovah, for all the people in Jerusalem, and for all the people that came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem.
10 Und BarukBaruk las aus dem BucheBuche die WorteWorte JeremiasJeremias im HauseHause JehovasJehovas, in der Zelle GemarjasGemarjas, des SohnesSohnes SchaphansSchaphans, des Schreibers, im oberen Vorhof, im Eingang des neuen ToresTores des Hauses JehovasJehovas, vor den Ohren des ganzen Volkes.10 And Baruch read in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of the house of Jehovah, in the ears of all the people.
11 Und MikajaMikaja, der SohnSohn GemarjasGemarjas, des SohnesSohnes SchaphansSchaphans, hörte alle WorteWorte JehovasJehovas aus dem BucheBuche,11 And Micah the son of Gemariah the son of Shaphan heard out of the book all the words of Jehovah;
12 und er ging zum HauseHause des Königs hinab in das Gemach des Schreibers; und siehe, daselbst saßen alle Fürsten4: ElischamaElischama, der Schreiber, und DelajaDelaja, der SohnSohn SchemajasSchemajas, und ElnathanElnathan, der SohnSohn AkborsAkbors, und GemarjaGemarja, der SohnSohn SchaphansSchaphans, und ZedekiaZedekia, der SohnSohn HananjasHananjas, und alle Fürsten.12 and he went down to the king's house, into the scribe's chamber, and behold, all the princes were sitting there: Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
13 Und MikajaMikaja berichtete ihnen alle die WorteWorte, die er gehört hatte, als BarukBaruk vor den Ohren des Volkes aus dem BucheBuche las.13 And Micah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read in the book in the ears of the people.
14 Da sandten alle Fürsten JehudiJehudi, den SohnSohn NethanjasNethanjas, des SohnesSohnes SchelemjasSchelemjas, des SohnesSohnes KuschisKuschis, zu BarukBaruk und ließen ihm sagen: Die Rolle, aus welcher du vor den Ohren des Volkes gelesen hast, nimm sie in deine Hand und komm! Und BarukBaruk, der SohnSohn NerijasNerijas, nahm die Rolle in seine Hand und kam zu ihnen.14 And all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thy hand the roll in which thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. And Baruch the son of Nerijah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
15 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Setze dich doch und lies sie vor unseren Ohren. Und BarukBaruk las vor ihren Ohren.15 And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. And Baruch read it in their ears.
16 Und es geschah, als sie alle die WorteWorte hörten, sahen sie einander erschrocken an und sprachen zu BarukBaruk: Wir müssen dem König alle diese WorteWorte berichten.16 And it came to pass, when they heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said unto Baruch, We will certainly report to the king all these words.
17 Und sie fragten BarukBaruk und sprachen: Teile uns doch mit, wie du alle diese WorteWorte aus seinem Munde aufgeschrieben hast.17 And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words from his mouth?
18 Und BarukBaruk sprach zu ihnen: Aus seinem Munde sagte er mir alle diese WorteWorte vor, und ich schrieb sie mit TinteTinte in das BuchBuch.18 And Baruch said unto them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.
19 Und die Fürsten sprachen zu BarukBaruk: Geh, verbirg dich, du und JeremiaJeremia, daß niemand wisse, wo ihr seid. -19 And the princes said unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; that none may know where ye are.
20 Und sie gingen zu dem König in den Hof5; die Rolle aber hatten sie in dem Gemach ElischamasElischamas, des Schreibers, niedergelegt; und sie berichteten alle die WorteWorte vor den Ohren des Königs.20 And they went in unto the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.
21 Da sandte der König den JehudiJehudi, um die Rolle zu holen; und er holte sie aus dem Gemach ElischamasElischamas, des Schreibers; und JehudiJehudi las sie vor den Ohren des Königs und vor den Ohren aller Fürsten, die um den König standen.21 And the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll, and he fetched it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes that stood beside the king.
22 Der König aber saß im Winterhause, im neunten Monat, und der Kohlentopf war vor ihm angezündet.22 Now the king was sitting in the winter-house in the ninth month, and with the fire-pan burning before him.
23 Und es geschah, sooft JehudiJehudi drei oder vier Spalten vorgelesen hatte, zerschnitt sie der König6 mit dem SchreibermesserSchreibermesser und warf sie in das FeuerFeuer, das im Kohlentopf war, bis die ganze Rolle in dem FeuerFeuer des Kohlentopfes vernichtet war.23 And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four columns, he cut it with the scribe's knife, and cast it into the fire that was in the pan until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was in the pan.
24 Und der König und alle seine KnechteKnechte, welche alle diese WorteWorte hörten, erschraken nicht und zerrissen nicht ihre KleiderKleider.24 And they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
25 Und obwohl ElnathanElnathan und DelajaDelaja und GemarjaGemarja den König angingen, daß er die Rolle nicht verbrennen möchte, hörte er doch nicht auf sie.25 Moreover, Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll; but he would not hear them.
26 Und der König gebot JerachmeelJerachmeel, dem Königssohne7, und SerajaSeraja, dem SohneSohne AsrielsAsriels, und SchelemjaSchelemja, dem SohneSohne AbdeelsAbdeels, BarukBaruk, den Schreiber, und JeremiaJeremia, den ProphetenPropheten, zu ergreifen; aber JehovaJehova hatte sie verborgen.26 And the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but Jehovah hid them.
27 Und das WortWort JehovasJehovas geschah zu JeremiaJeremia, nachdem der König die Rolle und die WorteWorte, welche BarukBaruk aus dem Munde JeremiasJeremias aufgeschrieben, verbrannt hatte, also:27 And after that the king had burned the roll, and the words that Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah, saying,
28 Nimm dir wieder eine andere Rolle und schreibe darauf alle die vorigen WorteWorte, die auf der vorigen Rolle waren, welche JojakimJojakim, der König von JudaJuda, verbrannt hat.28 Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.
29 Und über JojakimJojakim, den König von JudaJuda, sollst du sprechen: So spricht JehovaJehova: Du hast diese Rolle verbrannt, indem du sprachst: „Warum hast du darauf geschrieben: der König von BabelBabel wird gewißlich kommen und dieses Land verderben und Menschen und ViehVieh daraus vertilgen?“29 And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith Jehovah: Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from it man and beast?
30 Darum spricht JehovaJehova also über JojakimJojakim, den König von JudaJuda: Er wird niemand haben, der auf dem ThroneThrone DavidsDavids sitze; und sein Leichnam wird hingeworfen sein der Hitze bei TageTage und der Kälte bei Nacht8.30 Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
31 Und ich will an ihm und an seinem Samen und an seinen Knechten ihre Missetat9 heimsuchen, und will über sie und über die Bewohner von JerusalemJerusalem und über die Männer von JudaJuda all das Unglück bringen, welches ich über sie geredet habe; aber sie haben nicht gehört. -31 And I will visit their iniquity upon him, and upon his seed, and upon his servants; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; and they have not hearkened.
32 Und JeremiaJeremia nahm eine andere Rolle und gab sie BarukBaruk, dem SohneSohne NerijasNerijas, dem Schreiber. Und er schrieb darauf aus dem Munde JeremiasJeremias alle WorteWorte des BuchesBuches, welches JojakimJojakim, der König von JudaJuda, im FeuerFeuer verbrannt hatte. Und es wurden noch viele WorteWorte gleichen Inhalts10 hinzugefügt.32 And Jeremiah took another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Nerijah; and he wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah, all the words of the book that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides unto them many like words.
