1 Im AnfangAnfang der Regierung JojakimsJojakims, des SohnesSohnes JosiasJosias, des Königs von JudaJuda, geschah dieses WortWort von seiten JehovasJehovas also:1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying,
2 So spricht JehovaJehova: Tritt in den Vorhof des Hauses JehovasJehovas und zu allen Städten JudasJudas, welche kommen, um anzubeten im HauseHause JehovasJehovas, rede alle die WorteWorte, welche ich dir geboten habe, zu ihnen zu reden; tue kein WortWort davon.2 Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of Jehovah's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Jehovah's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them: diminish not a word.
3 Vielleicht werden sie hören und ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege umkehren: so werde ich mich des Übels gereuen lassen, welches ich ihnen zu tun gedenke wegen der Bosheit ihrer Handlungen.3 Peradventure they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do unto them because of the wickedness of their doings.
4 Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht JehovaJehova: Wenn ihr nicht auf mich höret, daß ihr in meinem GesetzGesetz wandelt, welches ich euch vorgelegt habe,4 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken unto me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
5 daß ihr auf die WorteWorte meiner KnechteKnechte, der ProphetenPropheten, höret, welche ich zu euch sende, früh mich aufmachend und sendend (ihr habt aber nicht gehört):5 to hearken unto the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent unto you, even rising early and sending them , but ye have not hearkened,
6 so will ich dieses HausHaus wie SiloSilo machen, und diese Stadt werde ich zum FlucheFluche machen allen NationenNationen der ErdeErde.6 --then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
7 Und die PriesterPriester und die ProphetenPropheten und alles Volk hörten JeremiaJeremia diese WorteWorte reden im HauseHause JehovasJehovas.7 And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.
8 Und es geschah, als JeremiaJeremia alles zu Ende geredet was JehovaJehova geboten hatte, zu dem ganzen Volke zu reden, da ergriffen ihn die PriesterPriester und die ProphetenPropheten und alles Volk und sprachen: Du mußt gewißlich sterben.8 And it came to pass when Jeremiah had ended speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, Thou shalt certainly die.
9 Warum hast du im NamenNamen JehovasJehovas geweissagt und gesprochen: Dieses HausHaus wird wie SiloSilo werden, und diese Stadt verwüstet, ohne Bewohner? Und alles Volk versammelte sich gegen JeremiaJeremia im HauseHause JehovasJehovas.9 Why hast thou prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.
10 Und als die Fürsten von JudaJuda diese WorteWorte hörten, gingen sie hinauf aus dem HauseHause des Königs zum HauseHause JehovasJehovas und setzten sich in den Eingang des neuen ToresTores JehovasJehovas.10 And the princes of Judah heard these things; and they went up from the king's house unto the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entry of the new gate of Jehovah.
11 Und die PriesterPriester und die ProphetenPropheten redeten zu den Fürsten und zu allem Volke und sprachen: Diesem ManneManne gebührt die Todesstrafe1, denn er hat wider diese Stadt geweissagt, wie ihr mit euren Ohren gehört habt.11 And the priests and the prophets spoke unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die, for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
12 Und JeremiaJeremia redete zu den Fürsten und zu allem Volke und sprach: JehovaJehova hat mich gesandt, um wider dieses HausHaus und wider diese Stadt all die WorteWorte zu weissagen, welche ihr gehört habt.12 And Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying, Jehovah sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.
13 Und nun machet gut eure Wege und eure Handlungen, und höret auf die Stimme JehovasJehovas, eures GottesGottes: so wird JehovaJehova sich des Übels gereuen lassen, welches er über euch geredet hat.13 And now, amend your ways and your doings, and hearken to the voice of Jehovah your God; and Jehovah will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
14 Ich aber, siehe, ich bin in eurer Hand; tut mir, wie es gut und wie es recht ist in euren AugenAugen.14 But as for me, behold, I am in your hand; do unto me as seemeth good and right in your eyes:
15 Doch wisset bestimmt, daß ihr, wenn ihr mich tötet, unschuldiges BlutBlut bringen werdet auf euch und auf diese Stadt und auf ihre Bewohner; denn in WahrheitWahrheit, JehovaJehova hat mich zu euch gesandt, um alle diese WorteWorte vor euren Ohren zu reden.15 only know for certain that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
16 Und die Fürsten und alles Volk sprachen zu den PriesternPriestern und zu den ProphetenPropheten: Diesem ManneManne gebührt nicht die Todesstrafe; denn er hat im NamenNamen JehovasJehovas, unseres GottesGottes, zu uns geredet.16 And the princes and all the people said unto the priests and to the prophets, This man is not worthy to die; for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah our God.
17 Und es erhoben sich Männer von den Ältesten des Landes, und sie sprachen zu der ganzen VersammlungVersammlung des Volkes und sagten:17 And there rose up certain of the elders of the land and spoke to all the congregation of the people, saying,
18 MichaMicha, der Moraschtiter2, hat in den Tagen HiskiasHiskias, des Königs von JudaJuda, geweissagt und zu dem ganzen Volke von JudaJuda gesprochen und gesagt: So spricht JehovaJehova der HeerscharenHeerscharen: „ZionZion wird als Acker gepflügt werden, und JerusalemJerusalem wird zu Trümmerhaufen und der BergBerg des Hauses3 zu Waldeshöhen werden“.418 Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
19 Haben denn HiskiaHiskia, der König von JudaJuda, und ganz JudaJuda ihn getötet? Hat er5 nicht JehovaJehova gefürchtet und JehovaJehova angefleht, so daß JehovaJehova sich des Übels gereuen ließ, welches er über sie geredet hatte? Und wir wollen eine so große Übeltat wider unsere Seelen begehen!19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and supplicate Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil that he had pronounced against them? And we should be doing a great evil against our souls.
20 Und es war auch ein MannMann, der im NamenNamen JehovasJehovas weissagte, UrijaUrija, der SohnSohn SchemajasSchemajas, aus Kirjath-JearimKirjath-Jearim; und er weissagte wider diese Stadt und wider dieses Land nach allen Worten JeremiasJeremias.20 And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim: and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah;
21 Und als der König JojakimJojakim und alle seine Helden und alle Fürsten seine WorteWorte hörten, suchte der König ihn zu töten. Und als UrijaUrija es hörte, fürchtete er sich und floh, und er kam nach Ägypten.21 and Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, and the king sought to put him to death; but Urijah heard it, and he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.
22 Da sandte der König JojakimJojakim Männer nach Ägypten, ElnathanElnathan, den SohnSohn AkborsAkbors, und Männer mit ihm nach Ägypten.22 And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him, into Egypt;
23 Und sie brachten UrijaUrija aus Ägypten und führten ihn zu dem König JojakimJojakim; und er erschlug ihn mit dem SchwerteSchwerte und warf seinen Leichnam auf die Gräber der KinderKinder des Volkes6.23 and they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king; and he slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the children of the people.
24 Doch die Hand AchikamsAchikams, des SohnesSohnes SchaphansSchaphans, war mit JeremiaJeremia, daß man ihn nicht in die Hand des Volkes gab, um ihn zu töten.24 --Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
