1 Und es geschah, als das Volk sich beklagte, daß es übel war in den Ohren JehovasJehovas; und als JehovaJehova es hörte, da erglühte sein ZornZorn, und ein FeuerFeuer JehovasJehovas brannte unter ihnen und fraß am Ende des LagersLagers.1 And it came to pass that when the people murmured, it was evil in the ears of Jehovah; and Jehovah heard it, and his anger was kindled, and the fire of Jehovah burned among them, and consumed some in the extremity of the camp.
2 Und das Volk schrie zu MoseMose; und MoseMose betetebetete zu JehovaJehova, da legte sich das FeuerFeuer.2 And the people cried to Moses; and Moses prayed to Jehovah--and the fire abated.
3 Und man gab selbigem Orte den NamenNamen Tabhera1, weil ein FeuerFeuer JehovasJehovas unter ihnen gebrannt hatte.3 And they called the name of that place Taberah; because a fire of Jehovah burned among them.
4 Und das Mischvolk, das in ihrer Mitte war, wurde lüstern, und auch die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael weinten wiederum und sprachen: Wer wird uns FleischFleisch zu essen geben?4 And the mixed multitude that was among them lusted; and the children of Israel also wept again and said, Who will give us flesh to eat?
5 Wir gedenken der FischeFische, die wir in Ägypten umsonst aßen, der Gurken und der MelonenMelonen und des LauchsLauchs und der ZwiebelnZwiebeln und des KnoblauchsKnoblauchs;5 We remember the fish that we ate in Egypt for nothing; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;
6 und nun ist unsere SeeleSeele dürre; gar nichts ist da, nur auf das Man sehen unsere AugenAugen.6 and now our soul is dried up: there is nothing at all but the manna before our eyes.
7 Das Man aber war wie Koriandersamen, und sein Ansehen wie das Ansehen des Bdellion2.7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and its appearance as the appearance of bdellium.
8 Das Volk lief umher, und sie sammelten und mahlten es mit Handmühlen oder zerstießen es in MörsernMörsern; und sie kochten es in Töpfen, auch machten sie KuchenKuchen daraus; und sein Geschmack war wie der Geschmack von Ölkuchen.8 The people went about, and gathered it, and ground it with hand-mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it; and the taste of it was as the taste of oil-cakes.
9 Und wenn des NachtsNachts der TauTau auf das LagerLager herabfiel, so fiel das Man auf dasselbe herab.9 And when the dew fell upon the camp by night, the manna fell upon it.
10 Und als MoseMose das Volk nach seinen GeschlechternGeschlechtern, einen jeden am Eingang seines ZeltesZeltes, weinen hörte, und der ZornZorn JehovasJehovas heftig entbrannte, da war es übel in den AugenAugen MosesMoses.10 And Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every one at the entrance of his tent; and the anger of Jehovah was kindled greatly; it was also evil in the eyes of Moses.
11 Und MoseMose sprach zu JehovaJehova: Warum hast du an deinem KnechteKnechte übel getan, und warum habe ich nicht GnadeGnade gefunden in deinen AugenAugen, daß du die LastLast dieses ganzen Volkes auf mich legst?11 And Moses said to Jehovah, Why hast thou done evil to thy servant, and why have I not found favour in thine eyes, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?
12 Bin ich mit diesem ganzen Volke schwanger gegangen, oder habe ich es geboren, daß du zu mir sprichst: Trage es in deinem BusenBusen, gleichwie der Wärter den Säugling trägt, in das Land, das du ihren VäternVätern zugeschworen hast?12 Have I conceived all this people, have I brought them forth, that thou sayest to me, Carry them in thy bosom, as the nursing-father beareth the suckling, unto the land which thou didst swear unto their fathers?
13 Woher soll ich FleischFleisch haben, um es diesem ganzen Volke zu geben? Denn sie weinen gegen mich und sagen: Gib uns FleischFleisch, daß wir essen!13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh that we may eat!
14 Ich allein vermag nicht dieses ganze Volk zu tragen, denn es ist mir zu schwer.14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, for it is too heavy for me.
15 Und wenn du also mit mir tust, so bringe mich doch um, wenn ich GnadeGnade gefunden habe in deinen AugenAugen, damit ich mein Unglück nicht ansehe.15 And if thou deal thus with me, slay me, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, that I may not behold my wretchedness.
16 Und JehovaJehova sprach zu MoseMose: Versammle mir siebenzig Männer aus den Ältesten IsraelsIsraels, von denen du weißt, daß sie die Ältesten des Volkes und seine VorsteherVorsteher sind, und führe sie zu dem ZelteZelte der Zusammenkunft, daß sie sich daselbst mit dir hinstellen.16 And Jehovah said to Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and their officers; and take them to the tent of meeting, and they shall stand there with thee.
17 Und ich werde herniederkommen und daselbst mit dir reden, und ich werde von dem GeisteGeiste nehmen, der auf dir ist, und auf sie legen, daß sie mit dir an der LastLast des Volkes tragen, und du sie nicht allein tragest.17 And I will come down and talk with thee there; and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, and thou shalt not bear it alone.
18 Und zu dem Volke sollst du sagen: Heiliget euch auf morgen, und ihr werdet FleischFleisch essen; denn ihr habt vor den Ohren JehovasJehovas geweint und gesprochen: Wer wird uns FleischFleisch zu essen geben? denn in Ägypten ging es uns wohl; und JehovaJehova wird euch FleischFleisch geben, und ihr werdet essen.18 And unto the people shalt thou say, Hallow yourselves for to-morrow, and ye shall eat flesh; for ye have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, Who will give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt; and Jehovah will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.
19 Nicht einen TagTag sollt ihr essen, und nicht zwei TageTage und nicht fünf TageTage und nicht zehn TageTage und nicht zwanzig TageTage:19 Not one day shall ye eat, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;
20 bis zu einem ganzen Monat, bis es euch zur Nase herauskommt, und es euch zum Ekel wird; weil ihr JehovaJehova, der in eurer Mitte ist, verachtet3 und vor ihm geweint und gesprochen habt: Warum doch sind wir aus Ägypten herausgezogen?20 but for a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it become loathsome unto you; because that ye have despised Jehovah who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
21 Und MoseMose sprach: Sechshunderttausend MannMann zu Fuß ist das Volk, in dessen Mitte ich bin, und du sprichst: FleischFleisch will ich ihnen geben, daß sie einen ganzen Monat essen!21 And Moses said, The people in whose midst I am are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou sayest, I will give them flesh that they may eat a whole month.
22 Soll Klein- und Rindvieh für sie geschlachtet werden, daß es für sie ausreiche? oder sollen alle FischeFische des MeeresMeeres für sie gesammelt werden, daß es für sie ausreiche?22 Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered for them, to suffice them?
23 Und JehovaJehova sprach zu MoseMose: Ist die Hand JehovasJehovas zu kurz? Jetzt sollst du sehen, ob mein WortWort dir eintrifft oder nicht.23 And Jehovah said to Moses, Hath Jehovah's hand become short? Now shalt thou see whether my word will come to pass unto thee or not.
24 Da ging MoseMose hinaus und redete zu dem Volke die WorteWorte JehovasJehovas; und er versammelte siebenzig Männer aus den Ältesten des Volkes und stellte sie rings um das ZeltZelt.24 And Moses went out and told the people the words of Jehovah; and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tent.
25 Und JehovaJehova kam in der WolkeWolke hernieder und redete zu ihm und nahm von dem GeisteGeiste, der auf ihm war, und legte ihn auf die siebenzig Männer, die Ältesten. Und es geschah, sobald der GeistGeist auf sie kam4, weissagten sie; aber sie fuhren nicht fort.25 And Jehovah came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy men, the elders; and it came to pass, that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did not repeat it .
26 Und zwei Männer blieben im LagerLager zurück, der Name des einen war EldadEldad, und der Name des anderen MedadMedad; und auch auf sie kam der GeistGeist, (sie waren nämlich unter den Aufgeschriebenen, waren aber nicht zum ZelteZelte hinausgegangen) und sie weissagten im LagerLager.26 And two men remained in the camp, the name of the one, Eldad, and the name of the other, Medad; and the Spirit rested upon them (and they were among them that were written, but they had not gone out to the tent); and they prophesied in the camp.
27 Da lief ein Jüngling hin und berichtete es MoseMose und sprach: EldadEldad und MedadMedad weissagen im LagerLager.27 And there ran a youth, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.
28 Und JosuaJosua, der SohnSohn Nuns, der DienerDiener MosesMoses, einer von seinen Jünglingen5, antwortete und sprach: Mein HerrHerr MoseMose, wehre ihnen!28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the attendant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them!
29 Aber MoseMose sprach zu ihm: Eiferst du für mich? Möchte doch das ganze Volk JehovasJehovas ProphetenPropheten sein, daß JehovaJehova seinen GeistGeist auf sie legte!29 But Moses said to him, Enviest thou for my sake? would that all Jehovah's people were prophets, and that Jehovah would put his Spirit upon them!
30 Und MoseMose zog sich in das LagerLager zurück, er und die Ältesten IsraelsIsraels.30 And Moses withdrew into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.
31 Und ein WindWind fuhr von JehovaJehova aus und trieb Wachteln vom MeereMeere herbei und warf sie auf das LagerLager, bei einer Tagereise hier und bei einer Tagereise dort, rings um das LagerLager, und bei zwei Ellen hoch über der Oberfläche der ErdeErde.31 And there went forth a wind from Jehovah, and drove quails from the sea, and cast them about the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and about a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the earth.
32 Und das Volk machte sich auf, denselben ganzen TagTag und die ganze NachtNacht und den ganzen folgenden TagTag, und sie sammelten die Wachteln; wer wenig gesammelt, hatte zehn HomerHomer gesammelt; und sie breiteten sich dieselben aus rings um das LagerLager her.32 And the people rose up all that day, and the whole night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered little gathered ten homers; and they spread them abroad for themselves round about the camp.
33 Das FleischFleisch war noch zwischen ihren Zähnen, es war noch nicht zerkaut, da entbrannte der ZornZorn JehovasJehovas wider das Volk, und JehovaJehova richtete unter dem Volke eine sehr große Niederlage an6.33 The flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, when the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against the people, and Jehovah smote the people with a very great plague.
34 Und man gab selbigem Orte den NamenNamen Kibroth-Hattaawa7, weil man daselbst das Volk begrub, das lüstern gewesen war.34 And they called the name of that place Kibroth-hattaavah; because there they buried the people who lusted.
35 Von Kibroth-HattaawaKibroth-Hattaawa brach das Volk auf nach HazerothHazeroth; und sie waren zu HazerothHazeroth.35 From Kibroth-hattaavah the people journeyed to Hazeroth; and they were at Hazeroth.
