1 Und DavidDavid sprach: Ist noch jemand da, der vom HauseHause SaulsSauls übriggeblieben ist, daß ich Güte an ihm erweise um JonathansJonathans willen?1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
2 Es war aber ein KnechtKnecht vom HauseHause SaulsSauls, sein Name war ZibaZiba; und sie riefen ihn zu DavidDavid. Und der König sprach zu ihm: Bist du ZibaZiba? Und er sprach: Dein KnechtKnecht.2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba; and they called him to David. And the king said to him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant!
3 Und der König sprach: Ist niemand mehr da vom HauseHause SaulsSauls, daß ich Güte GottesGottes an ihm erweise? Und ZibaZiba sprach zu dem König: Es ist noch ein SohnSohn da von JonathanJonathan, der an den Füßen lahm ist.3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame on his feet.
4 Und der König sprach zu ihm: Wo ist er? Und ZibaZiba sprach zu dem König: Siehe, er ist im HauseHause MakirsMakirs, des SohnesSohnes AmmielsAmmiels, zu LodebarLodebar.4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
5 Da sandte der König DavidDavid hin und ließ ihn aus dem HauseHause MakirsMakirs, des SohnesSohnes AmmielsAmmiels, holen, von LodebarLodebar.5 And king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
6 Und MephibosethMephiboseth, der SohnSohn JonathansJonathans, des SohnesSohnes SaulsSauls, kam zu DavidDavid; und er fiel auf sein Angesicht und beugte sich nieder. Und DavidDavid sprach: MephibosethMephiboseth! Und er sprach: Siehe, dein KnechtKnecht.6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he said, Behold thy servant!
7 Und DavidDavid sprach zu ihm: Fürchte dich nicht; denn ich will gewißlich Güte an dir erweisen um deines VatersVaters JonathanJonathan willen, und will dir alle Felder deines VatersVaters SaulSaul zurückgeben; du aber sollst beständig an meinem Tische essen.7 And David said to him, Fear not; for I will certainly shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8 Und er beugte sich nieder und sprach: Was ist dein KnechtKnecht, daß du dich zu einem toten HundeHunde gewandt hast, wie ich einer bin?8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
9 Da rief der König ZibaZiba, den Diener1 SaulsSauls, und sprach zu ihm: Alles was SaulSaul und seinem ganzen HauseHause gehört hat, habe ich dem SohneSohne deines HerrnHerrn gegeben.9 Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, I have given to thy master's son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.
10 Und du sollst ihm das Land bauen, du und deine Söhne und deine KnechteKnechte, und den Ertrag einbringen, damit der SohnSohn deines HerrnHerrn BrotBrot zu essen habe2. Und MephibosethMephiboseth, der SohnSohn deines HerrnHerrn, soll beständig an meinem Tische essen. Und ZibaZiba hatte fünfzehn Söhne und zwanzig KnechteKnechte.10 And thou, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits , that thy master's son may have food to eat. And Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread at my table continually. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11 Und ZibaZiba sprach zu dem König: Nach allem was mein HerrHerr, der König, seinem KnechteKnechte gebietet, also wird dein KnechtKnecht tun. Und MephibosethMephiboseth, sprach der König, wird an meinem Tische essen, wie einer von den Königssöhnen.11 And Ziba said to the king, According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so will thy servant do. And Mephibosheth said David shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.
12 Und MephibosethMephiboseth hatte einen kleinen SohnSohn, sein Name war MichaMicha. Und alle, die im HauseHause ZibasZibas wohnten, waren MephibosethsMephiboseths KnechteKnechte.12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.
13 Und MephibosethMephiboseth wohnte in JerusalemJerusalem, denn er aß beständig am Tische des Königs. Er war aber lahm an beiden Füßen.13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he did eat continually at the king's table. And he was lame on both his feet.
