2 Der GeistGeist JehovasJehovas hat durch mich geredet, und sein WortWort war auf meiner Zunge.2 The Spirit of Jehovah spoke by me, And his word was on my tongue.

5 Obwohl mein HausHaus nicht also ist bei GottGott, so hat er mir doch einen ewigen BundBund gesetzt, geordnet in allem und verwahrt; denn dies ist all meine Rettung und all mein Begehr, obwohl er es nicht sprossen läßt!45 Although my house be not so before *God, Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in every way and sure; For this is all my salvation, and every desire, Although he make it not to grow.
6 Aber die Söhne BelialsBelials sind allesamt wie DornenDornen, die man wegwirft; denn mit der Hand faßt man sie nicht an;6 But the sons of Belial are all of them as thorns thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with hands;
7 Und der MannMann, der sie anrührt, versieht sich mit EisenEisen und Speeresschaft; und mit FeuerFeuer werden sie gänzlich verbrannt an ihrer Stätte. -7 And the man that will touch them provideth himself with iron and the staff of a spear; And they shall be utterly burned with fire in their place.
8 Dies5 sind die NamenNamen der Helden, welche DavidDavid hatte: Joscheb-Baschebeth, der Tachkemoniter6, das HauptHaupt der Anführer7; er ... AdinoAdino, der EzniterEzniter, war wider8 achthundert, die er auf einmal erschlug.8 These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Joseb-Bassebeth, Tachkemonite the chief of the captains: he was Adino the Eznite; he fought against eight hundred, slain by him at one time.
9 Und nach ihm EleasarEleasar, der SohnSohn DodosDodos, der SohnSohn eines AchochitersAchochiters; er war unter den drei Helden mit DavidDavid, als sie die PhilisterPhilister verhöhnten, die daselbst zum StreitStreit versammelt waren, und als die Männer von IsraelIsrael wegzogen.9 And after him, Eleazar the son of Dodo the son of an Ahohite: he was one of the three mighty men with David, when they had defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone up.
10 Selbiger machte sich auf und schlug unter den PhilisternPhilistern, bis seine Hand ermüdete und seine Hand am SchwerteSchwerte klebte; und JehovaJehova schaffte an jenem TageTage eine große Rettung. Das Volk aber kehrte um, ihm nach, nur um zu plündern.10 He arose and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave to the sword; and Jehovah wrought a great deliverance that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11 Und nach ihm SchammaSchamma, der SohnSohn AgesAges, des HararitersHarariters. Und die PhilisterPhilister versammelten sich zu einer Schar; und es war daselbst ein Ackerstück voll LinsenLinsen; das Volk aber floh vor den PhilisternPhilistern.11 And after him, Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite: the Philistines were gathered into a troop, and there was there a plot of ground full of lentils, and the people had fled before the Philistines;
12 Da stellte er sich mitten auf das Stück und rettete es und schlug die PhilisterPhilister; und JehovaJehova schaffte eine große Rettung.12 and he stood in the midst of the plot and delivered it, and smote the Philistines, and Jehovah wrought a great deliverance.
13 Und drei von den dreißig Häuptern gingen hinab und kamen zur Erntezeit zu DavidDavid, in die Höhle AdullamAdullam; und eine Schar der PhilisterPhilister lagerte im TaleTale RephaimRephaim.13 And three of the thirty chiefs went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam, when the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14 DavidDavid war aber damals auf9 der Bergfeste, und eine AufstellungAufstellung der PhilisterPhilister war damals zu BethlehemBethlehem.14 And David was then in the stronghold; and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.
15 Und DavidDavid hatte ein Gelüste und sprach: Wer wird mich mit Wasser tränken aus der ZisterneZisterne von BethlehemBethlehem, die am ToreTore ist?15 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me to drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate!
16 Da brachen die drei Helden durch das LagerLager der PhilisterPhilister und schöpften Wasser aus der ZisterneZisterne von BethlehemBethlehem, die am ToreTore ist, und trugen und brachten es zu DavidDavid. Aber er wollte es nicht trinken und goß es aus als TrankopferTrankopfer dem JehovaJehova;16 And the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; however he would not drink of it, but poured it out to Jehovah.
17 und er sprach: Fern sei es von mir, JehovaJehova, daß ich solches tue! Sollte ich das BlutBlut der Männer trinken, die mit Gefahr ihres LebensLebens hingegangen sind? Und er wollte es nicht trinken. Das taten die drei Helden.17 And he said, Be it far from me, Jehovah, that I should do this thing! is it not the blood of the men that went at the risk of their lives? Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
18 Und AbisaiAbisai, der BruderBruder JoabsJoabs, der SohnSohn der ZerujaZeruja, war ein HauptHaupt der DreiDrei. Und er schwang seinen SpeerSpeer über dreihundert, die er erschlug; und er hatte einen NamenNamen unter den Dreien.18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was the chief of three; and he brandished his spear against three hundred and slew them; and he had a name among the three.
19 War er vor den Dreien10 nicht geehrt11, so daß er ihr ObersterOberster wurde? aber an die ersten DreiDrei reichte er nicht.19 Was he not most honourable of three? and he was their captain; but he did not attain to the first three.
20 Und BenajaBenaja, der SohnSohn JojadasJojadas, der SohnSohn eines tapferen MannesMannes, groß an Taten, von KabzeelKabzeel; selbiger erschlug zwei Löwen12 von MoabMoab. Und er stieg hinab und erschlug den Löwen in der GrubeGrube an einem Schneetage.20 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, son of a valiant man, great in exploits, of Kabzeel: he it was that smote two lions of Moab; and he went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.
21 Und er war es, der einen ägyptischen MannMann erschlug, einen stattlichen MannMann. Und der Ägypter hatte einen SpeerSpeer in der Hand; er aber ging zu ihm hinab mit einem Stabe, und riß dem Ägypter den SpeerSpeer aus der Hand und tötete ihn mit seinem eigenen SpeereSpeere.21 He also smote the Egyptian, an imposing man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Das tat BenajaBenaja, der SohnSohn JojadasJojadas; und er hatte einen NamenNamen unter den drei Helden.22 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he had a name among the three mighty men.
23 Vor den Dreißigen war er geehrt, aber an die ersten DreiDrei reichte er nicht. Und DavidDavid setzte ihn in seinen geheimen RatRat.23 He was honoured above the thirty, but he did not attain to the first three. And David set him in his council.
24 AsaelAsael, der BruderBruder JoabsJoabs, war unter den Dreißig; ElchananElchanan, der SohnSohn DodosDodos, von BethlehemBethlehem;24 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
