1 Und es geschah danach: AbsalomAbsalom, der SohnSohn DavidsDavids, hatte eine schöne Schwester, ihr Name war TamarTamar; und AmnonAmnon, der SohnSohn DavidsDavids, liebte sie.1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David having a beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar, Amnon the son of David loved her.
2 Und es war dem AmnonAmnon wehe zum Krankwerden um seiner Schwester TamarTamar willen; denn sie war eine JungfrauJungfrau, und es war in den AugenAugen AmnonsAmnons unmöglich, ihr das Geringste zu tun.2 And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and it seemed difficult for Amnon to do the least thing to her.
3 Und AmnonAmnon hatte einen Freund, sein Name war JonadabJonadab, der SohnSohn SchimeasSchimeas, des BrudersBruders DavidsDavids; und JonadabJonadab war ein sehr kluger MannMann.3 And Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother; and Jonadab was a very shrewd man.
4 Und er sprach zu ihm: Warum bist du so abgezehrt, KönigssohnKönigssohn, MorgenMorgen für MorgenMorgen? Willst du es mir nicht kundtun? Und AmnonAmnon sprach zu ihm: Ich liebe TamarTamar, die Schwester meines BrudersBruders AbsalomAbsalom.4 And he said to him, Why dost thou, the king's son, get thinner from morning to morning? Wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said to him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister.
5 Und JonadabJonadab sprach zu ihm: Lege dich auf dein LagerLager und stelle dich krank; und kommt dein VaterVater, um dich zu sehen, so sprich zu ihm: Laß doch meine Schwester TamarTamar kommen und mir Speise zu essen geben, und vor meinen AugenAugen das Essen zubereiten, damit ich zusehe und aus ihrer Hand esse.5 And Jonadab said to him, Lay thee down on thy bed and feign thyself sick; and when thy father comes to see thee, say to him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me food, and dress the food in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it from her hand.
6 Und AmnonAmnon legte sich und stellte sich krank. Und als der König kam, um ihn zu sehen, da sprach AmnonAmnon zu dem König: Laß doch meine Schwester TamarTamar kommen und vor meinen AugenAugen zwei KuchenKuchen bereiten, daß ich aus ihrer Hand esse.6 So Amnon lay down and feigned himself sick; and the king came to see him, and Amnon said to the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.
7 Da sandte DavidDavid zu TamarTamar ins HausHaus und ließ ihr sagen: Gehe doch in das HausHaus deines BrudersBruders AmnonAmnon und bereite ihm das Essen.7 And David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go, I pray thee, to thy brother Amnon's house, and dress him food.
8 Und TamarTamar ging in das HausHaus ihres BrudersBruders AmnonAmnon; er lag aber zu BetteBette. Und sie nahm den Teig und knetete ihn, und bereitete KuchenKuchen vor seinen AugenAugen und backte die KuchenKuchen.8 And Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house; and he had lain down. And she took flour and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and baked the cakes.
9 Und sie nahm die PfannePfanne und schüttete sie vor ihm aus. Aber er weigerte sich zu essen. Und AmnonAmnon sprach: Laßt jedermann von mir hinausgehen! Und jedermann ging von ihm hinaus.9 And she took the pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Put every man out from me. And they went out every man from him.
10 Da sprach AmnonAmnon zu TamarTamar: Bringe das Essen in das innere Gemach, daß ich von deiner Hand esse. Und TamarTamar nahm die KuchenKuchen, die sie zubereitet hatte, und brachte sie ihrem BruderBruder AmnonAmnon in das innere Gemach.10 And Amnon said to Tamar, Bring the dish into the chamber, that I may eat of thy hand. And Tamar took the cakes that she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.
11 Und als sie ihm zu essen hinreichte, da ergriff er sie und sprach zu ihr: Komm, liege bei mir, meine Schwester!11 And she presented them to him to eat; and he took hold of her, and said to her, Come, lie with me, my sister.
12 Und sie sprach zu ihm: Nicht doch, mein BruderBruder! schwäche mich nicht, denn also tut man nicht in IsraelIsrael; begehe nicht diese Schandtat!12 And she said to him, No, my brother, do not humble me; for no such thing is done in Israel: do not this infamy.
13 Und ich, wohin sollte ich meinen Schimpf tragen? und du, du würdest sein wie einer der Schändlichen in IsraelIsrael. Und nun rede doch zum König, denn er wird mich dir nicht verweigern.13 And I, whither shall I carry my reproach? and thou wouldest be as one of the infamous in Israel. And now, I pray thee, speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.
14 Er wollte aber nicht auf ihre Stimme hören; und er überwältigte sie und schwächte sie und beschlief sie.14 But he would not hearken to her voice, and was stronger than she, and humbled her and lay with her.
15 Und AmnonAmnon haßte sie mit einem sehr großen Hasse; denn der Haß, womit er sie haßte, war größer als die Liebe, womit er sie geliebt hatte. Und AmnonAmnon sprach zu ihr: Stehe auf, gehe!15 And Amnon hated her with an exceeding great hatred, for the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, Arise, be gone.
16 Und sie sprach zu ihm: Es gibt keine Ursache1 zu diesem Übel, mich wegzutreiben, welches größer ist als das andere, das du mir angetan hast. Aber er wollte nicht auf sie hören.16 And she said to him, There is no cause for this evil in sending me away, which is greater than the other that thou didst to me. But he would not hearken to her.
17 Und er rief seinem Knaben, seinem DienerDiener, und sprach: Treibet doch diese hinaus, von mir weg, und verriegele die TürTür hinter ihr!17 Then he called his young man that attended upon him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.
18 Sie trug aber ein langes Gewand2; denn also waren die Töchter des Königs, die Jungfrauen, mit Gewändern bekleidet. Und sein DienerDiener führte sie hinaus und verriegelte die TürTür hinter ihr.18 Now she had a vest of many colours upon her; for so were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled. And his attendant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
19 Da nahm TamarTamar AscheAsche auf ihr HauptHaupt und zerriß das lange GewandGewand, das sie anhatte, und sie legte ihre Hand auf ihr HauptHaupt und ging und schrie im Gehen.19 And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her vest of many colours which was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went away, crying out as she went.
20 Und ihr BruderBruder AbsalomAbsalom sprach zu ihr: Ist dein BruderBruder AmnonAmnon bei dir gewesen? Nun denn, meine Schwester, schweige still; er ist dein BruderBruder, nimm dir diese Sache nicht zu Herzen! Da blieb TamarTamar, und zwar einsam, im HauseHause ihres BrudersBruders AbsalomAbsalom.20 And Absalom her brother said to her, Has Amnon thy brother been with thee? and now, my sister, be still: he is thy brother; take not this thing to heart. And Tamar remained, and that desolate, in her brother Absalom's house.
21 Und der König DavidDavid hörte alle diese Dinge, und er wurde sehr zornig.21 And king David heard of all these things, and he was very angry.
22 Und AbsalomAbsalom redete mit AmnonAmnon weder Böses noch Gutes; denn AbsalomAbsalom haßte AmnonAmnon, darum daß er seine Schwester TamarTamar geschwächt hatte.22 And Absalom spoke to Amnon neither good nor bad; for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had humbled his sister Tamar.
23 Und es geschah nach zwei vollen Jahren, da hatte AbsalomAbsalom Schafscherer zu Baal-HazorBaal-Hazor, das bei EphraimEphraim liegt; und AbsalomAbsalom lud alle Söhne des Königs.23 And it came to pass after two full years, that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baal-Hazor, which is beside Ephraim; and Absalom invited all the king's sons.
24 Und AbsalomAbsalom kam zu dem König und sprach: Siehe doch, dein KnechtKnecht hat die Schafscherer; es gehe doch der König und seine KnechteKnechte mit deinem KnechteKnechte.24 And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold, now, thy servant has sheepshearers; let the king, I pray thee, and his servants go with thy servant.
25 Aber der König sprach zu AbsalomAbsalom: Nicht doch, mein SohnSohn! laß uns doch nicht allesamt gehen, daß wir dir nicht beschwerlich fallen. Und er drang in ihn; aber er wollte nicht gehen, und er segnete ihn.25 And the king said to Absalom, No, my son, let us not all go, lest we be burdensome to thee. And he urged him, but he would not go; and he blessed him.
26 Da sprach AbsalomAbsalom: Wenn nicht, so laß doch meinen BruderBruder AmnonAmnon mit uns gehen! Und der König sprach zu ihm: Warum soll er mit dir gehen?26 And Absalom said, If not, I pray thee, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, Why should he go with thee?
27 AbsalomAbsalom aber drang in ihn; da ließ er AmnonAmnon und alle Söhne des Königs mit ihm gehen.27 But Absalom pressed him; and he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with him.
28 Und AbsalomAbsalom gebot seinen Knaben und sprach: Sehet doch zu, wenn AmnonAmnon fröhlichen Herzens wird vom WeinWein, und ich zu euch spreche: Erschlaget AmnonAmnon! so tötet ihn, fürchtet euch nicht! Bin ich es nicht, der es euch geboten hat? Seid stark und seid tapfer!28 And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon's heart is merry with wine, and when I say to you, Smite Amnon; then slay him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.
29 Und die Knaben AbsalomsAbsaloms taten dem AmnonAmnon, so wie AbsalomAbsalom geboten hatte. Da standen alle Söhne des Königs auf und bestiegen ein jeder sein MaultierMaultier und flohen.29 And the servants of Absalom did to Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king's sons arose, and they rode each upon his mule and fled.
30 Und es geschah, während sie auf dem Wege waren, da kam das Gerücht zu DavidDavid, indem man sagte: AbsalomAbsalom hat alle Söhne des Königs erschlagen, und nicht einer von ihnen ist übriggeblieben.30 And it came to pass, while they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom has smitten all the king's sons, and there is not one of them left.
31 Da stand der König auf und zerriß seine KleiderKleider und legte sich auf die ErdeErde; und alle seine KnechteKnechte standen da mit zerrissenen KleidernKleidern.31 Then the king arose, and rent his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their garments rent.
32 Da hob JonadabJonadab, der SohnSohn SchimeasSchimeas, des BrudersBruders DavidsDavids, an und sprach: Mein HerrHerr sage nicht: sie haben alle die Jünglinge, die Söhne des Königs, getötet; denn AmnonAmnon allein ist tot; denn nach dem Beschluß AbsalomsAbsaloms war es festgestellt von dem TageTage an, da er seine Schwester TamarTamar geschwächt hat.32 And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king's sons; for Amnon only is dead; for by the appointment of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he humbled his sister Tamar.
33 Und nun nehme mein HerrHerr, der König, die Sache nicht zu Herzen, daß er spreche: alle Söhne des Königs sind tot; sondern AmnonAmnon allein ist tot.33 And now let not my lord the king take the thing to heart, to say, All the king's sons are dead; for Amnon only is dead.
34 Und AbsalomAbsalom entfloh. Und der Knabe, der Wächter, erhob seine AugenAugen und sah: und siehe, viel Volks kam von dem Wege hinter3 ihm, von4 der Seite des BergesBerges.34 And Absalom fled. And the young man that watched lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there came much people from the way behind him, from the hill-side.
35 Da sprach JonadabJonadab zu dem König: Siehe, die Söhne des Königs kommen; wie dein KnechtKnecht gesagt hat, also ist es geschehen.35 And Jonadab said to the king, Behold, the king's sons come: as thy servant said, so it is.
36 Und es geschah, sowie er ausgeredet hatte, siehe, da kamen die Söhne des Königs und erhoben ihre Stimme und weinten; und auch der König und alle seine KnechteKnechte brachen in ein sehr großes Weinen aus.36 And as soon as he had ended speaking, behold, the king's sons came, and lifted up their voice and wept; and the king also and all his servants wept very bitterly.
37 AbsalomAbsalom aber entfloh und ging zu TalmaiTalmai, dem SohneSohne Ammihurs5, dem König von GesurGesur. Und David6 trauerte um seinen SohnSohn alle TageTage.37 And Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.
38 AbsalomAbsalom aber entfloh und ging nach GesurGesur; und er war daselbst drei JahreJahre.38 Now Absalom fled, and went to Geshur, and was there three years.
39 Und der König DavidDavid sehnte sich, zu AbsalomAbsalom hinauszuziehen; denn er hatte sich über AmnonAmnon getröstet, daß er tot war.39 And king David longed to go forth to Absalom; for he was comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead.
