1 Und sie brachen auf von ElimElim, und die ganze GemeindeGemeinde der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael kam in die Wüste SinWüste Sin, die zwischen ElimElim und SinaiSinai ist, am fünfzehnten TageTage des zweiten Monats nach ihrem AuszugeAuszuge aus dem Lande Ägypten.1 And they journeyed from Elim, and the whole assembly of the children of Israel came into the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departure out of the land of Egypt.
2 Und die ganze GemeindeGemeinde der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael murrte wider MoseMose und wider AaronAaron in der WüsteWüste.2 And the whole assembly of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness.
3 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael sprachen zu ihnen: Wären wir doch im Lande Ägypten durch die Hand JehovasJehovas gestorben, als wir bei den Fleischtöpfen saßen, als wir BrotBrot aßen bis zur Sättigung! denn ihr habt uns in diese WüsteWüste herausgeführt, um diese ganze VersammlungVersammlung Hungers sterben zu lassen.3 And the children of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh-pots, when we ate bread to the full; for ye have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole congregation with hunger!
4 Da sprach JehovaJehova zu MoseMose: Siehe, ich werde euch BrotBrot vom HimmelHimmel regnen lassen; und das Volk soll hinausgehen und den täglichen Bedarf an seinem TageTage sammeln, damit ich es versuche, ob es wandeln wird in meinem GesetzGesetz oder nicht.4 Then said Jehovah to Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather the daily need on its day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.
5 Und es soll geschehen, am sechsten TageTage, da sollen sie zubereiten was sie einbringen, und es wird das Doppelte von dem sein, was sie tagtäglich sammeln werden.5 And it shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall prepare what they have brought in; and it shall be twice as much as they shall gather daily.
6 Und MoseMose und AaronAaron sprachen zu allen KindernKindern IsraelIsrael: Am AbendAbend, da werdet ihr erkennen, daß JehovaJehova euch aus dem Lande Ägypten herausgeführt hat;6 And Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, In the evening, then shall ye know that Jehovah has brought you out from the land of Egypt;
7 und am MorgenMorgen, da werdet ihr die HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit JehovasJehovas sehen, indem er euer Murren wider JehovaJehova gehört hat; denn was sind wir, daß ihr wider uns murret!7 and in the morning, then shall ye see the glory of Jehovah; for he has heard your murmurings against Jehovah; --and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
8 Und MoseMose sprach: Dadurch werdet ihr's erkennen, daß JehovaJehova euch am AbendAbend FleischFleisch zu essen geben wird und am MorgenMorgen BrotBrot bis zur Sättigung, indem JehovaJehova euer Murren gehört hat, womit ihr wider ihn murret. Denn was sind wir? Nicht wider uns ist euer Murren, sondern wider JehovaJehova.8 And Moses said, When Jehovah gives you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for Jehovah hears your murmurings which ye murmur against him...and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against Jehovah.
9 Und MoseMose sprach zu AaronAaron: Sprich zu der ganzen GemeindeGemeinde der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael: Nahet herzu vor JehovaJehova, denn er hat euer Murren gehört.9 And Moses spoke to Aaron, Say to all the assembly of the children of Israel, Come near into the presence of Jehovah; for he has heard your murmurings.
10 Und es geschah, als AaronAaron zu der ganzen GemeindeGemeinde der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael redete, da wandten sie sich gegen die WüsteWüste; und siehe, die HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit JehovasJehovas erschien in der WolkeWolke.10 And it came to pass, when Aaron spoke to the whole assembly of the children of Israel, that they turned toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of Jehovah appeared in the cloud.
11 Und JehovaJehova redete zu MoseMose und sprach:11 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
12 Ich habe das Murren der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael gehört; rede zu ihnen und sprich: Zwischen den zwei Abenden1 werdet ihr FleischFleisch essen, und am MorgenMorgen werdet ihr von BrotBrot satt werden; und ihr werdet erkennen, daß ich JehovaJehova bin, euer GottGott.12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak to them, saying, Between the two evenings ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah your God.
13 Und es geschah am AbendAbend, da kamen Wachteln herauf und bedeckten das LagerLager; und am MorgenMorgen war eine Tauschicht rings um das LagerLager.13 And it came to pass in the evening, that quails came up, and covered the camp; and in the morning the dew lay round the camp.
14 Und die Tauschicht stieg auf, und siehe, da lag's auf der Fläche der WüsteWüste fein, körnig2, fein, wie der Reif auf der ErdeErde.14 And when the dew that lay round it was gone up, behold, on the face of the wilderness there was something fine, granular, fine as hoar-frost, on the ground.
15 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael sahen es und sprachen einer zum anderen: Was ist das?3 Denn sie wußten nicht, was es war. Und MoseMose sprach zu ihnen: Dies ist das BrotBrot, das JehovaJehova euch zur Nahrung gegeben hat.15 And the children of Israel saw it , and said one to another, What is it? for they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, This is the bread which Jehovah has given you to eat.
16 Dies ist das WortWort, das JehovaJehova geboten hat: Sammelt davon, ein jeder nach dem MaßeMaße seines Essens; einen Ghomer für den KopfKopf, nach der Zahl eurer Seelen, sollt ihr nehmen, ein jeder für die, welche in seinem ZelteZelte sind.16 This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded: Gather of it every man according to what he can eat, an omer a poll, according to the number of your persons: ye shall take every man for those that are in his tent.
17 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael taten also und sammelten, der viel und der wenig.17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some much, some little.
18 Und sie maßen mit dem Ghomer: da hatte, wer viel gesammelt hatte, nicht übrig, und wer wenig gesammelt hatte, dem mangelte nicht; sie hatten gesammelt, ein jeder nach dem MaßeMaße seines Essens.18 And they measured with the omer: then he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little wanted nothing: they had gathered every man according to the measure of his eating.
19 Und MoseMose sprach zu ihnen: Niemand lasse davon übrig bis an den MorgenMorgen.19 And Moses said to them, Let no man leave any of it until the morning.
20 Aber sie hörten nicht auf MoseMose, und etliche ließen davon übrig bis an den MorgenMorgen; da wuchsen Würmer darin, und es ward stinkend. Und MoseMose wurde zornig über sie.20 But they did not hearken to Moses; and some men left of it until the morning; then worms bred in it and it stank. And Moses was wroth with them.
21 Und sie sammelten es MorgenMorgen für MorgenMorgen, ein jeder nach dem MaßeMaße seines Essens; und wenn die SonneSonne heiß wurde, so zerschmolz es.21 And they gathered it every morning, every man as much as he could eat; and when the sun became hot, it melted.
22 Und es geschah am sechsten TageTage, da sammelten sie das Doppelte an BrotBrot, zwei Ghomer für einen; und alle Fürsten der GemeindeGemeinde kamen und berichteten es MoseMose.22 And it came to pass on the sixth day, that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one; and all the princes of the assembly came and told Moses.
23 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Dies ist es, was JehovaJehova geredet hat: MorgenMorgen ist RuheRuhe, ein heiliger Sabbath dem JehovaJehova; was ihr backen wollt, backet, und was ihr kochen wollt, kochet. Alles aber, was übrigbleibt, leget euch hin zur Aufbewahrung bis an den MorgenMorgen.23 And he said to them, This is what Jehovah has said: To-morrow is the rest, the holy sabbath, of Jehovah: bake what ye will bake, and cook what ye will cook; and lay up for yourselves all that remains over, to be kept for the morning.
24 Und sie legten es hin bis an den MorgenMorgen, so wie MoseMose geboten hatte; und es stank nicht, und es war kein WurmWurm darin.24 And they laid it up for the morning, as Moses had commanded; and it did not stink, neither was there any worm in it.
25 Da sprach MoseMose: Esset es heute, denn heute ist Sabbath dem JehovaJehova; ihr werdet es heute auf dem Felde nicht finden.25 And Moses said, Eat it to-day; for to-day is sabbath to Jehovah: to-day ye shall not find it in the field.
26 Sechs TageTage sollt ihr es sammeln; aber am siebenten TageTage ist Sabbath, an dem wird es nicht sein.26 Six days shall ye gather it; but on the seventh day is sabbath: on it there shall be none.
27 Und es geschah am siebenten TageTage, daß etliche von dem Volke hinausgingen, um zu sammeln, und sie fanden nichts.27 And it came to pass on the seventh day that there went out some from the people to gather it , and they found none.
28 Und JehovaJehova sprach zu MoseMose: Bis wann weigert ihr euch, meine GeboteGebote und meine GesetzeGesetze zu beobachten?28 And Jehovah said to Moses, How long do ye refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?
29 Sehet, weil4 JehovaJehova euch den Sabbath gegeben hat, darum gibt er euch am sechsten TageTage BrotBrot für zwei TageTage; bleibet ein jeder an seiner Stelle, niemand gehe am siebenten TageTage von seinem Orte heraus.29 See, for Jehovah hath given you the sabbath; therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread for two days. Abide every man in his place: let no man go from his place on the seventh day.
30 Und das Volk ruhte am siebenten TageTage.30 And the people rested on the seventh day.
31 Und das HausHaus IsraelIsrael gab ihm den NamenNamen Man; und es war wie Koriandersamen, weiß, und sein Geschmack wie KuchenKuchen mit HonigHonig.31 And the house of Israel called its name Manna; and it was like coriander-seed, white; and the taste of it was like cake with honey.
32 Und MoseMose sprach: Dies ist das WortWort, das JehovaJehova geboten hat: Ein Ghomer voll davon sei zur Aufbewahrung für eure GeschlechterGeschlechter, damit sie das BrotBrot sehen, womit ich euch in der WüsteWüste gespeist habe, als ich euch aus dem Lande Ägypten herausführte.32 And Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded: Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread that I gave you to eat in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.
33 Und MoseMose sprach zu AaronAaron: Nimm einen KrugKrug und tue Man darein, einen Ghomer voll, und lege es vor JehovaJehova nieder zur Aufbewahrung für eure GeschlechterGeschlechter.33 And Moses said to Aaron, Take a pot, and put in it an omer full of manna, and deposit it before Jehovah, to be kept for your generations.
34 So wie JehovaJehova MoseMose geboten hatte, legte AaronAaron es vor das ZeugnisZeugnis nieder, zur Aufbewahrung. -34 As Jehovah had commanded Moses, so Aaron deposited it before the Testimony, to be kept.
35 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael aßen das Man vierzig JahreJahre, bis sie in ein bewohntes Land kamen; sie aßen das Man, bis sie an die Grenze des Landes KanaanKanaan kamen.35 And the children of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came into an inhabited land: they ate the manna until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.
36 Der Ghomer aber ist ein Zehntel vom EphaEpha.36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
