1 Und JehovaJehova redete zu MoseMose und sprach:1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
2 Sprich zu den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael, daß sie umkehren und sich lagern vor Pi-HachirothPi-Hachiroth, zwischen MigdolMigdol und dem MeereMeere; vor Baal-ZephonBaal-Zephon, ihm gegenüber, sollt ihr euch am MeereMeere lagern.2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea: before Baal-Zephon, opposite to it, shall ye encamp by the sea.
3 Und der PharaoPharao wird von den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael sagen: Verwirrt irren sie im Lande umher, die WüsteWüste hat sie umschlossen.3 And Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness has hemmed them in.
4 Und ich will das HerzHerz des PharaoPharao verhärten, daß er ihnen nachjage; und ich will mich verherrlichen an dem PharaoPharao und an seiner ganzen Heeresmacht, und die Ägypter sollen erkennen, daß ich JehovaJehova bin. Und sie taten also.4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he may pursue after them; and I will glorify myself in Pharaoh, and in all his host; and the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah. And they did so.
5 Und es wurde dem König von Ägypten berichtet, daß das Volk entflohen wäre; da verwandelte sich das HerzHerz des PharaoPharao und seiner KnechteKnechte gegen das Volk, und sie sprachen: Was haben wir da getan, daß wir IsraelIsrael aus unserem Dienste haben ziehen lassen!5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his bondmen was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from our service?
6 Und er spannte seinen WagenWagen an und nahm sein Volk mit sich.6 And he yoked his chariot, and took his people with him.
7 Und er nahm sechshundert auserlesene WagenWagen und alle WagenWagen Ägyptens, und Wagenkämpfer auf jedem derselben.7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
8 Und JehovaJehova verhärtete das HerzHerz des PharaoPharao, des Königs von Ägypten, und er jagte den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael nach; und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael zogen aus mit erhobener Hand.8 And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel; and the children of Israel had gone out with a high hand.
9 Und die Ägypter jagten ihnen nach, alle Rosse, Wagen1 des PharaoPharao, und seine Reiter und seine Heeresmacht, und erreichten sie, als sie sich am MeereMeere gelagert hatten, bei Pi-HachirothPi-Hachiroth, vor Baal-ZephonBaal-Zephon.9 And the Egyptians pursued after them, --all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them where they had encamped by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, opposite to Baal-Zephon.
10 Und als der PharaoPharao nahte, da hoben die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael ihre AugenAugen auf, und siehe, die Ägypter zogen hinter ihnen her; und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael fürchteten sich sehr und schrieen zu JehovaJehova.10 And Pharaoh approached; and the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and the children of Israel were much afraid, and cried out to Jehovah.
11 Und sie sprachen zu MoseMose: Hast du uns darum, weil in Ägypten keine Gräber waren, weggeholt, um in der WüsteWüste zu sterben? Warum hast du uns das getan, daß du uns aus Ägypten herausgeführt hast?11 And they said to Moses, Is it because there were no graves in Egypt, thou hast taken us away to die in the wilderness? why hast thou done this to us, that thou hast led us out of Egypt?
12 Ist dies nicht das WortWort, das wir in Ägypten zu dir geredet haben, indem wir sprachen: Laß ab von uns, daß wir den Ägyptern dienen? denn besser wäre es uns, den Ägyptern zu dienen, als in der WüsteWüste zu sterben.12 Is not this what we told thee in Egypt, when we said, Let us alone, and we will serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.
13 Und MoseMose sprach zu dem Volke: Fürchtet euch nicht! stehet und sehet die Rettung JehovasJehovas, die er euch heute schaffen wird; denn die Ägypter, die ihr heute sehet, die werdet ihr hinfort nicht mehr sehen ewiglich.13 And Moses said to the people, Fear not: stand still, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which he will work for you to-day; for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14 JehovaJehova wird für euch streiten, und ihr werdet stille sein2.14 Jehovah will fight for you, and ye shall be still.
15 Und JehovaJehova sprach zu MoseMose: Was schreiest du zu mir? Rede zu den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael, daß sie aufbrechen.15 And Jehovah said to Moses, Why dost thou cry unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.
16 Und du, erhebe deinen Stab und strecke deine Hand aus über das MeerMeer und spalte es, daß die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael mitten in das MeerMeer hineingehen auf dem Trockenen.16 And thou, lift thy staff, and stretch out thy hand over the sea, and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
17 Und ich, siehe, ich will das HerzHerz der Ägypter verhärten, und sie werden hinter ihnen herkommen; und ich will mich verherrlichen an dem PharaoPharao und an seiner ganzen Heeresmacht, an seinen WagenWagen und an seinen Reitern.17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall pursue after them; and I will glorify myself in Pharaoh and in all his host, in his chariots and in his horsemen.
18 Und die Ägypter sollen erkennen, daß ich JehovaJehova bin, wenn ich mich verherrlicht habe an dem PharaoPharao, an seinen WagenWagen und an seinen Reitern.18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have glorified myself in Pharaoh, in his chariots and in his horsemen.
19 Und der Engel GottesEngel Gottes, der vor dem Heere IsraelsIsraels herzog, brach auf und trat hinter sie; und die Wolkensäule brach auf von vorn3 und stellte sich hinter sie.19 And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before them, and stood behind them.
20 Und sie kam zwischen das Heer der Ägypter und das Heer IsraelsIsraels, und sie wurde dort WolkeWolke und FinsternisFinsternis, und erleuchtete hier die NachtNacht; und so nahte jenes diesem nicht die ganze NachtNacht.20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and was a cloud and darkness, and lit up the night; and the one did not come near the other all the night.
21 Und MoseMose streckte seine Hand aus über das MeerMeer, und JehovaJehova trieb das MeerMeer durch einen starken Ostwind hinweg, die ganze NachtNacht, und machte das MeerMeer trocken4, und die Wasser wurden gespalten.21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah made the sea go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land , and the waters were divided.
22 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael gingen mitten in das MeerMeer hinein auf dem Trockenen, und die Wasser waren ihnen eine Mauer zur Rechten und zur Linken.22 And the children of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry ground ; and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
23 Und die Ägypter jagten ihnen nach und kamen hinter ihnen her, alle Rosse des PharaoPharao, seine WagenWagen und seine Reiter, mitten ins MeerMeer.23 And the Egyptians pursued and came after them--all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots and his horsemen, into the midst of the sea.
24 Und es geschah in der Morgenwache, da schaute JehovaJehova in der Feuer- und Wolkensäule auf das Heer der Ägypter und verwirrte das Heer der Ägypter.24 And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Jehovah looked upon the camp of the Egyptians, in the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and embarrassed the camp of the Egyptians.
25 Und er stieß die RäderRäder von seinen WagenWagen, und ließ es fahren mit Beschwerde. Und die Ägypter sprachen: Laßt uns vor IsraelIsrael fliehen, denn JehovaJehova streitet für sie wider die Ägypter!25 And he took off their chariot wheels, and caused them to drive with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, Let us flee before Israel, for Jehovah is fighting for them against the Egyptians!
26 Und JehovaJehova sprach zu MoseMose: Strecke deine Hand aus über das MeerMeer, daß die Wasser über die Ägypter zurückkehren, über ihre WagenWagen und über ihre Reiter.26 And Jehovah said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the sea, that the waters may return upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots and upon their horsemen.
27 Da streckte MoseMose seine Hand aus über das MeerMeer, und das MeerMeer kehrte beim Anbruch des MorgensMorgens zu seiner Strömung zurück; und die Ägypter flohen ihm entgegen; und JehovaJehova stürzte die Ägypter mitten ins MeerMeer.27 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength toward the morning; and the Egyptians fled against it; and Jehovah overturned the Egyptians into the midst of the sea.
28 Und die Wasser kehrten zurück und bedeckten die WagenWagen und die Reiter der ganzen Heeresmacht des PharaoPharao, die hinter ihnen her ins MeerMeer gekommen waren; es blieb auch nicht einer von ihnen übrig.28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen of all the host of Pharaoh that had come into the sea after them; there remained not even one of them.
29 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael gingen auf dem Trockenen mitten durch das MeerMeer, und die Wasser waren ihnen eine Mauer zur Rechten und zur Linken.29 And the children of Israel walked on dry ground through the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
30 So rettete JehovaJehova IsraelIsrael an selbigem TageTage aus der Hand der Ägypter, und IsraelIsrael sah die Ägypter tot am Ufer des MeeresMeeres.30 Thus Jehovah saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the sea-shore.
31 Und IsraelIsrael sah die große Macht5, die JehovaJehova an den Ägyptern betätigt hatte; und das Volk fürchtete JehovaJehova, und sie glaubten an JehovaJehova und an MoseMose, seinen KnechtKnecht.31 And Israel saw the great power with which Jehovah had wrought against the Egyptians; and the people feared Jehovah, and believed in Jehovah, and in Moses his bondman.
