1 Und ElisaElisa, der ProphetProphet, rief einen von den Söhnen der ProphetenPropheten und sprach zu ihm: Gürte deine LendenLenden und nimm diese Ölflasche in deine Hand und gehe nach Ramoth-GileadRamoth-Gilead.1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead.
2 Und wenn du dahin gekommen bist, so sieh dich daselbst nach JehuJehu um, dem SohneSohne JosaphatsJosaphats, des SohnesSohnes NimsisNimsis; und gehe hinein, und laß ihn aufstehen aus der Mitte seiner BrüderBrüder und führe ihn in ein inneres Gemach;2 And when thou art come thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him rise up from among his brethren, and bring him to an inner chamber;
3 und nimm die Ölflasche und gieße sie über sein HauptHaupt aus und sprich: So spricht JehovaJehova: Ich habe dich zum König über IsraelIsrael gesalbt! und öffne die TürTür und fliehe, und harre nicht.3 then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head and say, Thus saith Jehovah: I have anointed thee king over Israel; and open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
4 Und der Jüngling, der Knabe des ProphetenPropheten, ging nach Ramoth-GileadRamoth-Gilead.4 And the young man, the young prophet, went to Ramoth-Gilead.
5 Und er kam hinein, und siehe, da saßen die Obersten des Heeres. Und er sprach: Ich habe ein WortWort an dich, ObersterOberster. Und JehuJehu sprach: An wen von uns allen? Und er sprach: An dich, ObersterOberster.5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting. And he said, I have an errand to thee, captain. And Jehu said, To which of all of us? And he said, To thee, captain.
6 Da stand Jehu1 auf und ging ins HausHaus hinein; und er goß das Öl auf sein HauptHaupt und sprach zu ihm: So spricht JehovaJehova, der GottGott IsraelsIsraels: Ich habe dich zum König gesalbt über das Volk JehovasJehovas, über IsraelIsrael.6 And he rose up and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: I have anointed thee king over the people of Jehovah, over Israel.
7 Und du sollst das HausHaus AhabsAhabs, deines HerrnHerrn, erschlagen; und ich werde das BlutBlut meiner KnechteKnechte, der ProphetenPropheten, und das BlutBlut aller KnechteKnechte JehovasJehovas rächen von der Hand IsebelsIsebels.7 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master; and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Jehovah at the hand of Jezebel.
8 Ja, das ganze HausHaus AhabsAhabs soll umkommen; und ich werde von AhabAhab ausrotten was männlich ist, sowohl den Gebundenen als auch den Freien in IsraelIsrael.8 And the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, and him that is shut up and left in Israel.
9 Und ich werde das HausHaus AhabsAhabs machen wie das HausHaus Jerobeams, des SohnesSohnes NebatsNebats, und wie das HausHaus BaesasBaesas, des SohnesSohnes AchijasAchijas.9 And I will make the house of Ahab as the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
10 IsebelIsebel aber sollen die HundeHunde fressen auf dem Ackerstück zu JisreelJisreel, und niemand wird sie begraben. Und er öffnete die TürTür und entfloh.10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the plot of Jizreel, and none shall bury her. And he opened the door and fled.
11 Und JehuJehu kam heraus zu den Knechten seines HerrnHerrn. Und man sprach zu ihm: Steht es wohl? Warum ist dieser Rasende zu dir gekommen? Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr kennet ja den MannMann und seine Rede.11 And Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord. And one said to him, Is all well? why came this madman to thee? And he said to them, Ye know the man, and his mind.
12 Und sie sprachen: Lüge! tue es uns doch kund! Da sprach er: So und so hat er zu mir geredet und gesagt: So spricht JehovaJehova: Ich habe dich zum König über IsraelIsrael gesalbt!12 And they said, It is false! tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spoke he to me saying, Thus saith Jehovah: I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13 Da eilten sie und nahmen ein jeder sein Kleid und legten es unter ihn, auf die Stufen selbst; und sie stießen in die Posaune und sprachen: JehuJehu ist König!13 Then they hasted and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the very stairs, and blew with trumpets, and said, Jehu is king!
14 Und so machte JehuJehu, der SohnSohn JosaphatsJosaphats, des SohnesSohnes NimsisNimsis, eine Verschwörung gegen JoramJoram. (JoramJoram aber, er und ganz IsraelIsrael, hatte Ramoth-GileadRamoth-Gilead gegen HasaelHasael, den König von SyrienSyrien, verteidigt2;14 And Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram. (Now Joram kept Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
15 und der König JoramJoram war zurückgekehrt, um sich in JisreelJisreel von den Wunden heilen zu lassen, welche ihm die Syrer geschlagen hatten, als er wider HasaelHasael, den König von SyrienSyrien, stritt.) Und JehuJehu sprach: Wenn es euer Wille ist, so soll niemand aus der Stadt entrinnen, um hinzugehen, es in JisreelJisreel zu berichten.15 and king Joram had returned to be healed in Jizreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your will, let not a fugitive escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jizreel.
16 Und JehuJehu saß auf und zog nach JisreelJisreel; denn JoramJoram lag daselbst. Und AhasjaAhasja, der König von JudaJuda, war hinabgezogen, um JoramJoram zu besuchen.16 And Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jizreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
17 Und der Wächter stand auf dem TurmeTurme zu JisreelJisreel und sah den Haufen JehusJehus, wie er herankam, und sprach: Ich sehe einen Haufen. Und JoramJoram sprach: Nimm einen Reiter und sende ihn ihnen entgegen, daß er spreche: Ist es FriedeFriede?17 And the watchman stood on the tower in Jizreel, and saw Jehu's company as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?
18 Da ritt der Berittene ihm entgegen und sprach: So spricht der König: Ist es FriedeFriede? Und JehuJehu sprach: Was hast du mit dem Frieden zu schaffen? Wende dich hinter mich! Und der Wächter berichtete und sprach: Der BoteBote ist bis zu ihnen gekommen und kehrt nicht zurück.18 So there went one on horseback to meet him; and he said, Thus saith the king: Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told saying, The messenger came to them, and he does not return.
19 Da sandte er einen zweiten Berittenen; und er kam zu ihnen und sprach: So spricht der König: Ist es FriedeFriede? Und JehuJehu sprach: Was hast du mit dem Frieden zu schaffen? Wende dich hinter mich!19 And he sent out a second on horseback; and he came to them and said, Thus saith the king: Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
20 Und der Wächter berichtete und sprach: Er ist bis zu ihnen gekommen und kehrt nicht zurück. Und das Treiben ist wie das Treiben JehusJehus, des SohnesSohnes NimsisNimsis; denn er treibt unsinnig.20 And the watchman told saying, He came to them, and does not return. And the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.
21 Da sprach JoramJoram: Spannet an! Und man spannte seinen WagenWagen an; und JoramJoram, der König von IsraelIsrael, und AhasjaAhasja, der König von JudaJuda, zogen aus, ein jeder auf seinem WagenWagen: sie zogen aus, JehuJehu entgegen, und sie trafen ihn auf dem Grundstück NabothsNaboths, des JisreelitersJisreeliters.21 Then Joram said, Make ready! And they made ready his chariot. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and met him in the plot of Naboth the Jizreelite.
22 Und es geschah, als JoramJoram den JehuJehu sah, da sprach er: Ist es FriedeFriede, JehuJehu? Aber er sprach: Was, FriedeFriede, während der vielen Hurereien IsebelsIsebels, deiner MutterMutter, und ihrer vielen Zaubereien!22 And it came to pass when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he said, What peace, so long as the fornications of thy mother Jezebel and her sorceries are so many?
23 Da wandte JoramJoram um3 und floh, und sprach zu AhasjaAhasja: Verrat, AhasjaAhasja!23 Then Joram turned his hand, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, Treachery, Ahaziah!
24 JehuJehu aber nahm seinen BogenBogen zur Hand und traf JoramJoram zwischen seine ArmeArme, so daß der PfeilPfeil ihm durch das HerzHerz fuhr; und er sank nieder in seinem WagenWagen.24 And Jehu took his bow in his hand, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out through his heart; and he sank down in his chariot.
25 Und er sprach zu BidkarBidkar, seinem Anführer: Nimm ihn und wirf ihn auf das Grundstück NabothsNaboths, des JisreelitersJisreeliters. Denn gedenke, wie wir, ich und du, neben einander hinter seinem VaterVater AhabAhab herritten, und JehovaJehova diesen AusspruchAusspruch über ihn tat:25 And he said to Bidkar his captain, Take him up and cast him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jizreelite. For remember how, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, that Jehovah laid this burden upon him:
26 Wenn ich nicht das BlutBlut NabothsNaboths und das BlutBlut seiner Söhne gestern gesehen habe! spricht Jehova4; und ich werde es dir vergelten auf diesem Grundstück, spricht Jehova5. Und nun nimm ihn auf, wirf ihn auf das Grundstück, nach dem WorteWorte JehovasJehovas.26 Certainly I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith Jehovah; and I will requite thee in this plot, saith Jehovah. And now, take and cast him into the plot, according to the word of Jehovah.
27 Als AhasjaAhasja, der König von JudaJuda, das sah, floh er des Weges zum Gartenhause6. Und JehuJehu jagte ihm nach und sprach: Auch ihn erschlaget auf dem WagenWagen! Und sie verwundeten ihn auf der Anhöhe GurGur, die bei JibleamJibleam ist. Und er floh nach MegiddoMegiddo und starb daselbst.27 When Ahaziah king of Judah saw that , he fled by the way of the garden-house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in his chariot. It was on the ascent of Gur, which is by Jibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28 Und seine KnechteKnechte führten ihn zu WagenWagen nach JerusalemJerusalem, und sie begruben ihn in seinem BegräbnisBegräbnis, bei seinen VäternVätern, in der Stadt DavidsStadt Davids. -28 And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29 Und im elften JahreJahre JoramsJorams, des SohnesSohnes AhabsAhabs, war AhasjaAhasja König geworden über JudaJuda.29 (And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab had Ahaziah begun to reign over Judah.)
30 Und JehuJehu kam nach JisreelJisreel. Und als IsebelIsebel es hörte, da tat sie SchminkeSchminke an ihre AugenAugen und schmückte ihr HauptHaupt und schaute zum FensterFenster hinaus.30 And Jehu came to Jizreel; and Jezebel heard of it, and she put paint to her eyes, and decked her head, and looked out at the window.
31 Und als JehuJehu in das TorTor kam, da sprach sie: Erging es SimriSimri wohl, dem Mörder seines HerrnHerrn?731 And when Jehu came in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of his master?
32 Und er erhob sein Angesicht zum FensterFenster und sprach: Wer ist mit mir, wer? Da blickten zwei, drei KämmererKämmerer zu ihm hinab.32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And two or three chamberlains looked out to him.
33 Und er sprach: Stürzet sie herab! Und sie stürzten sie hinab; und es spritzte von ihrem BluteBlute an die Wand und an die Rosse, und er zertrat sie.33 And he said, Throw her down! And they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses; and he trampled on her.
34 Und er ging hinein und aß und trank; und er sprach: Sehet doch nach dieser Verfluchten und begrabet sie, denn sie ist eine Königstochter.34 And he came in, and ate and drank; and he said, Go, look, I pray you, after this cursed woman , and bury her; for she is a king's daughter.
35 Und sie gingen hin, um sie zu begraben; aber sie fanden nichts mehr von ihr, als nur den Schädel und die Füße und die Hände.35 And they went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.
36 Und sie kamen zurück und berichteten es ihm. Und er sprach: Das ist das WortWort JehovasJehovas, das er durch seinen KnechtKnecht EliaElia, den TisbiterTisbiter, geredet hat, indem er sprach: Auf dem Grundstück zu JisreelJisreel sollen die HundeHunde das FleischFleisch IsebelsIsebels fressen;36 And they came back and told him. And he said, This is the word of Jehovah, which he spoke through his servant Elijah the Tishbite saying, In the plot of Jizreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel;
37 und der Leichnam IsebelsIsebels soll auf dem Grundstück zu JisreelJisreel dem Miste auf dem Felde gleichen, daß man nicht wird sagen können: Das ist IsebelIsebel.37 and the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the open field in the plot of Jizreel, so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.
