1 Und1 als AthaljaAthalja, die MutterMutter AhasjasAhasjas, sah, daß ihr SohnSohn tot war, da machte sie sich auf und brachte allen königlichen Samen um.1 And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she rose up and destroyed all the royal seed.
2 Aber JosebaJoseba, die TochterTochter des Königs JoramJoram, die Schwester AhasjasAhasjas, nahm JoasJoas, den SohnSohn AhasjasAhasjas, und stahl ihn weg aus der Mitte der Königssöhne, die getötet wurden, und tat ihn und seine AmmeAmme in das Schlafgemach2; und so verbargen sie ihn vor AthaljaAthalja, und er wurde nicht getötet.2 But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, the sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and hid him and his nurse in the bedchamber; and they hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.
3 Und er war sechs JahreJahre bei ihr im HauseHause JehovasJehovas versteckt. AthaljaAthalja aber regierte über das Land.3 And he was with her hid in the house of Jehovah six years. And Athaliah reigned over the land.
4 Und im siebenten JahreJahre sandte JojadaJojada hin und ließ die Obersten über hundert der Karier3 und der LäuferLäufer holen und zu sich in das HausHaus JehovasJehovas kommen; und er machte einen BundBund mit ihnen und ließ sie schwören im HauseHause JehovasJehovas, und er zeigte ihnen den SohnSohn des Königs.4 And in the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the captains of the hundreds, of the bodyguard and the couriers, and brought them to him into the house of Jehovah, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of Jehovah, and shewed them the king's son.
5 Und er gebot ihnen und sprach: Dies ist es, was ihr tun sollt: Ein Drittel von euch, die ihr am Sabbath antretet, soll WacheWache halten im HauseHause des Königs,5 And he commanded them saying, This is the thing which ye shall do: a third part of you, that come in on the sabbath, shall be keepers of the watch of the king's house;
6 und ein Drittel soll am ToreTore SurSur, und ein Drittel am ToreTore hinter den LäufernLäufern sein; und ihr sollt der HutHut des Hauses warten zur Abwehr.6 and a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the couriers; and ye shall keep the watch of the house for a defence.
7 Und die zwei anderen AbteilungenAbteilungen von euch, alle die am Sabbath abtreten, die sollen im HauseHause JehovasJehovas WacheWache halten bei dem König.7 And the two parts of you, all those that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of Jehovah about the king.
8 Und ihr sollt den König rings umgeben, ein jeder mit seinen WaffenWaffen in seiner Hand; und wer in die Reihen eindringt, soll getötet werden; und ihr sollt bei dem König sein, wenn er ausgeht und wenn er eingeht.8 And ye shall encompass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and he that comes within the ranks shall be put to death; and ye shall be with the king when he goes out and when he comes in.
9 Und die Obersten über hundert taten nach allem, was der PriesterPriester JojadaJojada geboten hatte; und sie nahmen ein jeder seine Männer, die am Sabbath antretenden samt den am Sabbath abtretenden, und kamen zu dem PriesterPriester JojadaJojada.9 And the captains of the hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded; and they took every man his men, those that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go forth on the sabbath, and they came to Jehoiada the priest.
10 Und der PriesterPriester gab den Obersten über hundert die SpeereSpeere und die SchildeSchilde, welche dem König DavidDavid gehört hatten, die im HauseHause JehovasJehovas waren.10 And the priest gave to the captains of the hundreds king David's spears and shields which were in the house of Jehovah.
11 Und die LäuferLäufer stellten sich auf, ein jeder mit seinen WaffenWaffen in seiner Hand, von der rechten Seite des Hauses bis zur linken Seite des Hauses, gegen den AltarAltar und gegen das HausHaus hin, rings um den König.11 And the couriers stood by the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, toward the altar and the house.
12 Und er führte den SohnSohn des Königs heraus und setzte ihm die KroneKrone auf und gab ihm das ZeugnisZeugnis, und sie machten ihn zum König und salbten ihn; und sie klatschten in die Hände und riefen: Es lebe der König!12 And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, Long live the king!
13 Und als AthaljaAthalja das Geschrei der LäuferLäufer und des Volkes hörte, kam sie zu dem Volke in das HausHaus JehovasJehovas.13 And Athaliah heard the noise of the couriers and of the people; and she came to the people into the house of Jehovah.
14 Und sie sah: und siehe, der König stand auf dem Standorte, nach dem Gebrauch, und die Obersten und die Trompeter bei dem König; und alles Volk des Landes war fröhlich und stieß in die TrompetenTrompeten. Da zerriß AthaljaAthalja ihre KleiderKleider und rief: Verschwörung, Verschwörung!14 And she looked, and behold, the king stood on the dais, according to the custom, and the princes and the trumpeters were by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets. And Athaliah rent her garments and cried, Conspiracy! Conspiracy!
15 Und der PriesterPriester JojadaJojada gebot den Obersten über hundert, die über das Heer bestellt waren, und sprach zu ihnen: Führet sie hinaus außerhalb der Reihen4, und wer ihr folgt, den tötet mit dem SchwerteSchwerte! Denn der PriesterPriester sprach: Sie soll nicht in dem HauseHause JehovasJehovas getötet werden.15 And Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds that were set over the host, and said to them, Lead her forth without the ranks; and whosoever follows her, slay with the sword; for the priest said, Let her not be put to death in the house of Jehovah.
16 Und sie machten ihr Platz, und sie ging in das HausHaus des Königs auf dem Wege des Eingangs für die Rosse; und sie wurde daselbst getötet.16 And they made way for her, and she went by the way by which the horses entered the king's house, and there was she put to death.
17 Und JojadaJojada machte einen BundBund zwischen JehovaJehova und dem König und dem Volke, daß sie das Volk JehovasJehovas sein sollten, und zwischen dem König und dem Volke.17 And Jehoiada made a covenant between Jehovah and the king and the people, that they should be the people of Jehovah; and between the king and the people.
18 Da ging alles Volk des Landes in das HausHaus des BaalBaal und riß es nieder; seine Altäre und seine BilderBilder zerschlugen sie gänzlich; und MattanMattan, den PriesterPriester des BaalBaal, töteten sie vor den Altären. Und der PriesterPriester setzte Aufseher5 über das HausHaus JehovasJehovas.18 Then all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and broke it down: his altars and his images they broke in pieces completely, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of Jehovah.
19 Und er nahm die Obersten über hundert und die Karier und die LäuferLäufer und alles Volk des Landes, und sie führten den König aus dem HauseHause JehovasJehovas hinab und kamen auf dem Wege des Läufertores in das HausHaus des Königs; und er setzte sich auf den ThronThron der KönigeKönige.19 And he took the captains of the hundreds, and the bodyguard, and the couriers, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of Jehovah, and came by the way through the gate of the couriers into the king's house. And he sat upon the throne of the kings.
20 Und alles Volk des Landes freute sich, und die Stadt hatte RuheRuhe. AthaljaAthalja aber hatten sie im HauseHause des Königs mit dem SchwerteSchwerte getötet.20 And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet; and they had slain Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house.
