1 Und es geschah, als DavidDavid und seine Männer am dritten TageTage nach ZiklagZiklag kamen, da waren die AmalekiterAmalekiter in den SüdenSüden und in ZiklagZiklag eingefallen; und sie hatten ZiklagZiklag geschlagen und es mit FeuerFeuer verbrannt.1 And it came to pass, when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had made a raid upon the south, and upon Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag and burned it with fire;
2 Und sie hatten die Weiber und alle, die darin waren, gefangen weggeführt, vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten; sie hatten niemand getötet, sondern sie hatten sie weggetrieben und waren ihres Weges gezogen.2 and had taken the women captives that were in it; both great and small: they had put none to death, but had carried them off, and went on their way.
3 Und DavidDavid und seine Männer kamen zu der Stadt; und siehe, sie war mit FeuerFeuer verbrannt, und ihre Weiber und ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter waren gefangen weggeführt.3 And David and his men came to the city, and behold, it was burnt with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters were taken captives.
4 Da erhoben DavidDavid und das Volk, das bei ihm war, ihre Stimme, und sie weinten, bis keine KraftKraft mehr in ihnen war zu weinen.4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 Und auch die beiden Weiber DavidsDavids waren gefangen weggeführt, AchinoamAchinoam, die Jisreelitin, und AbigailAbigail, das Weib NabalsNabals, des Karmeliters.5 And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jizreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 Und DavidDavid war in großer BedrängnisBedrängnis, denn das Volk sprach davon, ihn zu steinigen; denn die SeeleSeele des ganzen Volkes war erbittert, ein jeder um seine Söhne und um seine Töchter. Aber DavidDavid stärkte sich in JehovaJehova, seinem GottGott.6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him; for the soul of all the people was embittered, every man because of his sons and because of his daughters; but David strengthened himself in Jehovah his God.
7 Und DavidDavid sprach zu AbjatharAbjathar, dem PriesterPriester, dem SohneSohne AhimelechsAhimelechs: Bringe mir doch das EphodEphod her! Und AbjatharAbjathar brachte das EphodEphod zu DavidDavid.7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, Bring near to me, I pray thee, the ephod. And Abiathar brought the ephod near to David.
8 Und DavidDavid befragte JehovaJehova und sprach: Soll ich dieser Schar nachjagen? werde ich sie erreichen? Und er sprach zu ihm: Jage nach, denn du wirst sie gewißlich erreichen und wirst gewißlich erretten.8 And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he said to him, Pursue; for thou shalt assuredly overtake them and shalt certainly recover.
9 Da zog DavidDavid hin, er und die sechshundert MannMann, die bei ihm waren; und sie kamen an den BachBach BesorBesor, wo die Zurückbleibenden stehen blieben.9 So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and they came to the torrent Besor; and those that were left stayed behind.
10 Und DavidDavid jagte nach, er und vierhundert MannMann; denn zweihundert MannMann blieben stehen, welche zu ermattet waren, um über den BachBach BesorBesor zu gehen.10 And David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to go over the torrent Besor.
11 Und sie fanden einen ägyptischen MannMann auf dem Felde und brachten ihn zu DavidDavid; und sie gaben ihm BrotBrot, und er aß, und sie tränkten ihn mit Wasser;11 And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he ate; and they gave him water to drink,
12 und sie gaben ihm eine Schnitte Feigenkuchen und zwei RosinenkuchenRosinenkuchen, und er aß; und sein GeistGeist kam ihm wieder, denn er hatte drei TageTage und drei Nächte kein BrotBrot gegessen und kein Wasser getrunken.12 and gave him a piece of fig-cake and two raisin-cakes, and he ate, and his spirit came again to him; for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, for three days and three nights.
13 Und DavidDavid sprach zu ihm: Wem gehörst du? und woher bist du? Und er sprach: Ich bin ein ägyptischer Jüngling, der KnechtKnecht eines amalekitischen MannesMannes; und mein HerrHerr hat mich verlassen, denn ich wurde heute vor drei Tagen krank.13 And David said to him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.
14 Wir sind eingefallen in den SüdenSüden der KerethiterKerethiter und in das was JudaJuda gehört und in den SüdenSüden von KalebKaleb, und wir haben ZiklagZiklag mit FeuerFeuer verbrannt.14 We made a raid against the south of the Cherethites, and against what belongs to Judah, and against the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.
15 Und DavidDavid sprach zu ihm: Willst du mich zu dieser Schar hinabführen? Und er sprach: Schwöre mir bei GottGott, daß du mich nicht töten noch mich der Hand meines HerrnHerrn ausliefern willst, so will ich dich zu dieser Schar hinabführen.15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this troop? And he said, Swear to me by God, that thou wilt neither put me to death nor deliver me up into the hand of my master, and I will bring thee down to this troop.
16 Und er führte ihn hinab; und siehe, sie waren über die Fläche des ganzen Landes zerstreut, essend und trinkend und tanzend wegen all der großen BeuteBeute, die sie aus dem Lande der PhilisterPhilister und aus dem Lande JudaJuda genommen hatten.16 And he brought him down, and behold, they were spread over the whole land, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
17 Und DavidDavid schlug sie von der Dämmerung an bis zum AbendAbend des folgenden TagesTages; und keiner von ihnen entrann, außer vierhundert jungen Männern, welche auf KameleKamele stiegen und entflohen.17 And David smote them from the twilight even to the evening of the next day; and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, who rode upon camels, and fled.
18 Und DavidDavid rettete alles was die AmalekiterAmalekiter genommen hatten, und DavidDavid rettete auch seine beiden Weiber.18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken: and David recovered his two wives.
19 Und es fehlte ihnen nichts, vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten, und bis zu den Söhnen und den Töchtern, und von der BeuteBeute bis zu allem was sie ihnen genommen hatten; alles brachte DavidDavid zurück.19 And there was nothing missed by them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil nor anything that they had taken: David brought all back.
20 Und DavidDavid nahm alles Klein- und Rindvieh; sie trieben es vor dem anderen1 ViehVieh her und sprachen: Dies ist die BeuteBeute DavidsDavids!20 And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drove before the other cattle, and said, This is David's spoil.
21 Und DavidDavid kam zu den zweihundert Männern, die zu ermattet gewesen waren, um DavidDavid nachzufolgen, und die sie am BacheBache BesorBesor zurückgelassen hatten; und sie zogen aus, DavidDavid und dem Volke entgegen, das bei ihm war; und DavidDavid trat zu dem Volke und fragte sie nach ihrem Wohlergehen.21 And David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow David, and whom they had left behind at the torrent Besor; and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him; and David drew near to the people and saluted them.
22 Und jeder böse und nichtswürdige Mann2 von den Männern, die mit DavidDavid gezogen waren, hob an und sprach: Darum daß sie nicht mit uns gezogen sind, wollen wir ihnen von der BeuteBeute, die wir entrissen haben, nichts geben, als nur einem jeden sein Weib und seine KinderKinder, daß sie sie wegführen und hingehen.22 And all the wicked men, and men of Belial, of those that had gone with David, answered and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them aught of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away and depart.
23 Aber DavidDavid sprach: Tut nicht also, meine BrüderBrüder, mit dem was JehovaJehova uns gegeben hat; und er hat uns behütet und die Schar, die über uns gekommen war, in unsere Hand gegeben.23 Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which Jehovah has given us, who has preserved us, and given the troop that came against us into our hand.
24 Und wer wird in dieser Sache auf euch hören? Denn wie das Teil dessen, der in den StreitStreit hinabzieht, so soll auch das Teil dessen sein, der bei dem Geräte bleibt: gemeinsam sollen sie teilen.24 And who will hearken to you in this matter? For as his share is that goes down to the battle, so shall his share be that abides by the baggage: they shall share alike.
25 Und so geschah es von jenem TageTage an und hinfort; und er3 machte es zur SatzungSatzung und zum Recht für IsraelIsrael bis auf diesen TagTag.25 And it was so from that day forward; and he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.
26 Und DavidDavid kam nach ZiklagZiklag; und er sandte von der BeuteBeute den Ältesten JudasJudas, seinen Freunden, und sprach: Siehe, da habt ihr ein Geschenk4 von der BeuteBeute der Feinde JehovasJehovas:26 And David came to Ziklag, and he sent of the spoil to the elders of Judah, to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of Jehovah:
27 denen zu BethelBethel und denen zu RamothRamoth im SüdenSüden und denen zu JattirJattir,27 to those in Bethel, and to those in south Ramoth, and to those in Jattir,
28 und denen zu AroerAroer und denen zu SiphmothSiphmoth und denen zu EstemoaEstemoa,28 and to those in Aroer, and to those in Siphmoth, and to those in Eshtemoa,
29 und denen zu RakalRakal und denen in den Städten der JerachmeeliterJerachmeeliter und denen in den Städten der KeniterKeniter,29 and to those in Rachal, and to those in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to those in the cities of the Kenites,
30 und denen zu HormaHorma und denen zu Bor-AschanBor-Aschan und denen zu AthakAthak,30 and to those in Hormah, and to those in Chor-ashan, and to those in Athach,
31 und denen zu HebronHebron, und nach allen Orten, wo DavidDavid umhergezogen war, er und seine Männer.31 and to those in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men went about.
