1 Und es geschah nach diesen Dingen, daß GottGott den AbrahamAbraham versuchte; und er sprach zu ihm: AbrahamAbraham! Und er sprach: Hier bin ich!1 And it came to pass after these things, that God tried Abraham, and said to him, Abraham! and he said, Here am I.
2 Und er sprach: Nimm deinen SohnSohn, deinen einzigen, den du lieb hast, den IsaakIsaak, und ziehe hin in das Land MorijaMorija, und opfere ihn daselbst als BrandopferBrandopfer auf einem der BergeBerge, den ich dir sagen werde.2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son , whom thou lovest, Isaac, and get thee into the land of Moriah, and there offer him up for a burnt-offering on one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3 Und AbrahamAbraham stand des MorgensMorgens früh auf und sattelte seinen EselEsel und nahm mit sich zwei von seinen Knaben und IsaakIsaak, seinen SohnSohn; und er spaltete HolzHolz zum BrandopferBrandopfer und machte sich auf und zog hin an den Ort, den GottGott ihm gesagt hatte.3 And Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he clave the wood for the burnt-offering, and rose up and went to the place that God had told him of.
4 Am dritten TageTage, da erhob AbrahamAbraham seine AugenAugen und sah den Ort von ferne.4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar.
5 Und AbrahamAbraham sprach zu seinen Knaben: Bleibet ihr hier mit dem EselEsel; ich aber und der Knabe wollen bis dorthin gehen und anbeten und dann zu euch zurückkehren.5 And Abraham said to his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
6 Und AbrahamAbraham nahm das HolzHolz des BrandopfersBrandopfers und legte es auf IsaakIsaak, seinen SohnSohn; und in seine Hand nahm er das FeuerFeuer und das Messer; und sie gingen beide miteinander.6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and the knife, and they went both of them together.
7 Und IsaakIsaak sprach zu seinem VaterVater AbrahamAbraham und sagte: Mein VaterVater! Und er sprach: Hier bin ich, mein SohnSohn. Und er sprach: Siehe, das FeuerFeuer und das HolzHolz; wo aber ist das SchafSchaf zum BrandopferBrandopfer?7 And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father! And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood; but where is the sheep for a burnt-offering?
8 Und AbrahamAbraham sprach: GottGott wird sich ersehen das SchafSchaf zum BrandopferBrandopfer, mein SohnSohn. Und sie gingen beide miteinander.8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself with the sheep for a burnt-offering. And they went both of them together.
9 Und sie kamen an den Ort, von dem GottGott ihm gesagt hatte; und AbrahamAbraham baute daselbst den AltarAltar und schichtete das HolzHolz; und er band seinen SohnSohn IsaakIsaak und legte ihn auf den AltarAltar oben auf das HolzHolz.9 And they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built the altar there, and piled the wood; and he bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 Und AbrahamAbraham streckte seine Hand aus und nahm das Messer, um seinen SohnSohn zu schlachten.10 And Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to slaughter his son.
11 Da rief ihm der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas vom HimmelHimmel zu und sprach: AbrahamAbraham, AbrahamAbraham! Und er sprach: Hier bin ich!11 And the Angel of Jehovah called to him from the heavens, and said, Abraham, Abraham! And he said, Here am I.
12 Und er sprach: Strecke deine Hand nicht aus nach dem Knaben, und tue ihm gar nichts! Denn nun weiß ich, daß du GottGott fürchtest und deinen SohnSohn, deinen einzigen, mir nicht vorenthalten hast.12 And he said, Stretch not out thy hand against the lad, neither do anything to him; for now I know that thou fearest God, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son , from me.
13 Und AbrahamAbraham erhob seine AugenAugen und sah, und siehe, da war ein Widder dahinten im Dickicht festgehalten durch seine HörnerHörner; und AbrahamAbraham ging hin und nahm den Widder und opferte ihn als BrandopferBrandopfer an seines SohnesSohnes Statt.13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt-offering instead of his son.
14 Und AbrahamAbraham gab diesem Orte den NamenNamen: JehovaJehova wird ersehen1; daher heutigen TagesTages gesagt wird: Auf dem BergeBerge JehovasJehovas wird ersehen werden.14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh; as it is said at the present day, On the mount of Jehovah will be provided.
15 Und der EngelEngel JehovasJehovas rief AbrahamAbraham ein zweites Mal vom HimmelHimmel zu15 And the Angel of Jehovah called to Abraham from the heavens a second time,
16 und sprach: Ich schwöre bei mir selbst, spricht Jehova2, daß, weil du dieses getan und deinen SohnSohn, deinen einzigen, mir nicht vorenthalten hast,16 and said, By myself I swear, saith Jehovah, that, because thou hast done this, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son ,
17 ich dich reichlich segnen und deinen Samen sehr mehren werde, wie die Sterne des HimmelsHimmels und wie der Sand, der am Ufer des MeeresMeeres ist; und dein Same wird besitzen das TorTor seiner Feinde;17 I will richly bless thee, and greatly multiply thy seed, as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is on the sea-shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 und in deinem Samen werden sich segnen3 alle NationenNationen der ErdeErde: darum daß du meiner Stimme gehorcht hast.18 and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves, because thou hast hearkened to my voice.
19 Und AbrahamAbraham kehrte zu seinen Knaben zurück, und sie machten sich auf und zogen miteinander nach BeersebaBeerseba; und AbrahamAbraham wohnte zu BeersebaBeerseba.19 And Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba. And Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.
20 Und es geschah nach diesen Dingen, da wurde dem AbrahamAbraham berichtet: Siehe, MilkaMilka, auch sie hat deinem BruderBruder NahorNahor Söhne geboren:20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she also has borne sons to thy brother Nahor:
21 UzUz, seinen Erstgeborenen, und BusBus, seinen BruderBruder, und KemuelKemuel, den VaterVater AramsArams,21 Uz his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
22 und KesedKesed und HasoHaso und PildaschPildasch und JidlaphJidlaph und BethuelBethuel.22 and Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
23 (Und BethuelBethuel zeugtezeugte RebekkaRebekka.) Diese acht gebar MilkaMilka dem NahorNahor, dem BruderBruder AbrahamsAbrahams.23 (And Bethuel begot Rebecca.) These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
24 Und sein Kebsweib, namens ReumaReuma, auch sie gebar TebachTebach und GachamGacham und TachaschTachasch und MaakaMaaka.24 And his concubine, named Reumah, she also bore Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maacah.
