1 Und1 es geschah, als SalomoSalomo den Bau des Hauses JehovasJehovas und des Hauses des Königs und alles Begehren SalomosSalomos, das ihm zu machen gefiel, vollendet hatte,1 And it came to pass when Solomon had completed the building of the house of Jehovah, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,
2 da erschien JehovaJehova dem SalomoSalomo zum zweiten Male, wie er ihm zu GibeonGibeon erschienen war.2 that Jehovah appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.
3 Und JehovaJehova sprach zu ihm: Ich habe dein GebetGebet und dein FlehenFlehen gehört, das du vor mir gefleht hast; ich habe dieses HausHaus, das du gebaut hast, geheiligt, um meinen NamenNamen dahin zu setzen auf ewig; und meine AugenAugen und mein HerzHerz sollen daselbst sein allezeit.3 And Jehovah said to him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication which thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.
4 Und du, wenn du vor mir wandeln wirst, so wie dein VaterVater DavidDavid gewandelt hat, in Lauterkeit des Herzens und in Geradheit, daß du tust nach allem was ich dir geboten habe, und wenn du meine SatzungenSatzungen und meine Rechte beobachten wirst,4 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and mine ordinances;
5 so werde ich den ThronThron deines Königtums über IsraelIsrael befestigenbefestigen ewiglich, so wie ich zu deinem VaterVater DavidDavid geredet habe, indem ich sprach: Es soll dir nicht an einem ManneManne fehlen auf dem ThroneThrone IsraelsIsraels.5 then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
6 Wenn ihr aber, ihr und eure KinderKinder, euch hinter mir abwenden und meine GeboteGebote, meine SatzungenSatzungen, die ich euch vorgelegt habe, nicht beobachten werdet, und werdet hingehen und anderen GötternGöttern dienen und euch vor ihnen niederbeugen,6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments, my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them;
7 so werde ich IsraelIsrael ausrotten aus dem Lande, das ich ihnen gegeben; und das HausHaus, welches ich meinem NamenNamen geheiligt habe, werde ich von meinem Angesicht wegwerfen; und IsraelIsrael wird zum SprichwortSprichwort und zur Spottrede werden unter allen Völkern.7 then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and the house, which I have hallowed to my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a by word among all peoples;
8 Und dieses HausHaus, das erhaben war2, - jeder, der an demselben vorbeigeht, wird sich entsetzen und zischen. Und man wird sagen: Warum hat JehovaJehova diesem Lande und diesem HauseHause also getan?8 and this house, which is high, every one that passes by it shall be astonished at, and shall hiss, and they shall say, Why has Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?
9 Und man wird sagen: Darum, daß sie JehovaJehova, ihren GottGott, der ihre VäterVäter aus dem Lande Ägypten herausgeführt hat, verlassen und andere GötterGötter angenommen3 und sich vor ihnen niedergebeugt und ihnen gedient haben: darum hat JehovaJehova all dieses Unglück über sie gebracht.9 And they shall say, Because they forsook Jehovah their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have attached themselves to other gods, and have worshipped them and served them; therefore has Jehovah brought upon them all this evil.
10 Und4 es geschah am Ende von zwanzig Jahren, während welcher SalomoSalomo die beiden Häuser, das HausHaus JehovasJehovas und das HausHaus des Königs, gebaut hatte, -10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of Jehovah and the king's house,
11 HiramHiram, der König von TyrusTyrus, hatte SalomoSalomo mit Zedernholz und mit Zypressenholz und mit GoldGold nach all seinem Begehr unterstützt - damals gab der König SalomoSalomo dem HiramHiram zwanzig Städte im Lande GaliläaGaliläa.11 Hiram the king of Tyre having furnished Solomon with cedar-trees and cypress-trees, and with gold, according to all his desire, --that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12 Und HiramHiram zog von TyrusTyrus aus, um die Städte zu besehen, die SalomoSalomo ihm gegeben hatte; und sie waren nicht recht in seinen AugenAugen.12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon had given him; and they did not please him.
13 Und er sprach: Was sind das für Städte, die du mir gegeben hast, mein BruderBruder! Und er5 nannte sie das Land KabulKabul bis auf diesen TagTag.13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul to this day.
14 HiramHiram hatte nämlich dem König hundertundzwanzig TalenteTalente GoldGold gesandt.14 And Hiram had sent to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.
15 Und dies ist die Sache mit der Fron, welche der König SalomoSalomo aushob, um das HausHaus JehovasJehovas zu bauen und sein HausHaus und das Millo6 und die Mauer von JerusalemJerusalem, und HazorHazor und MegiddoMegiddo und GeserGeser.15 And this is the account of the levy which king Solomon raised, to build the house of Jehovah, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
16 (Der PharaoPharao, der König von Ägypten, war heraufgezogen und hatte GeserGeser eingenommen und es mit FeuerFeuer verbrannt und die KanaaniterKanaaniter, die in der Stadt wohnten, erschlagen; und er hatte es seiner TochterTochter, dem Weibe SalomosSalomos, als MitgiftMitgift gegeben.)16 --Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and taken Gezer, and burned it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife.
17 Und SalomoSalomo baute GeserGeser und Unter-Beth-Horon17 --And Solomon built Gezer, and lower Beth-horon,
18 und BaalathBaalath, und Tadmor7 in der WüsteWüste, im Lande;18 and Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
19 und alle Vorratsstädte, die SalomoSalomo hatte, und die Wagenstädte und die Reiterstädte; und was SalomoSalomo Lust hatte zu bauen in JerusalemJerusalem und auf dem LibanonLibanon und im ganzen Lande seiner Herrschaft.19 and all the store-cities that Solomon had, and cities for chariots, and cities for the horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and on Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
20 Alles Volk, das übriggeblieben war von den AmoriternAmoritern, den HethiternHethitern, den PerisiternPerisitern, den HewiternHewitern und den JebusiternJebusitern, die nicht von den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael waren:20 All the people that were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel,
21 ihre Söhne, die nach ihnen im Lande übriggeblieben waren, welche die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael nicht zu verbannen vermocht hatten, die hob SalomoSalomo zu Fronarbeitern aus bis auf diesen TagTag.21 their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, upon them did Solomon impose a tribute of bondservice until this day.
22 Aber aus den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael machte SalomoSalomo keine Sklaven, sondern sie waren Kriegsleute und seine KnechteKnechte und seine Obersten und seine Anführer8, und Oberste seiner WagenWagen und seiner Reiter.22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen; but they were men of war, and his servants, and his chiefs, and his captains, and captains of his chariots, and his horsemen.
23 Dies sind die Oberaufseher, welche über das Werk SalomosSalomos waren: fünfhundert und fünfzig, die über das Volk walteten, das an dem WerkeWerke arbeitete.23 These were the chief superintendents that were over Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, that ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
24 Sobald die TochterTochter des PharaoPharao aus der Stadt DavidsStadt Davids in ihr HausHaus hinaufgezogen war, das er ihr erbaut hatte, da baute er das MilloMillo.24 But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David to her house which he had built for her: then he built Millo.
25 Und SalomoSalomo opferte dreimal im JahreJahre BrandopferBrandopfer und FriedensopferFriedensopfer auf dem AltarAltar, den er JehovaJehova erbaut hatte; und er räucherte auf dem, der vor JehovaJehova stand. Und er vollendete das HausHaus.25 And three times in the year did Solomon offer up burnt-offerings and peace-offerings upon the altar that he had built to Jehovah, and he burned incense upon that which was before Jehovah. So he finished the house.
26 Und der König SalomoSalomo machte eine Flotte zu Ezjon-GeberEzjon-Geber, das bei ElothEloth, am Ufer des SchilfmeeresSchilfmeeres, im Lande EdomEdom liegt.26 And king Solomon made a fleet of ships in Ezion-Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.
27 Und HiramHiram sandte auf der Flotte seine KnechteKnechte, Schiffsleute, die des MeeresMeeres kundig waren, mit den Knechten SalomosSalomos.27 And Hiram sent in the fleet his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon;
28 Und sie kamen nach OphirOphir und holten von dort GoldGold, vierhundert und zwanzig TalenteTalente, und brachten es zu dem König SalomoSalomo.28 and they went to Ophir, and fetched thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
