1 Und SalomoSalomo war Herrscher über alle Königreiche, von dem Strome1 an bis zu dem Lande der PhilisterPhilister und bis zu der Grenze Ägyptens; sie brachten GeschenkeGeschenke und dienten SalomoSalomo alle TageTage seines LebensLebens.21 And Solomon ruled over all kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
2 Und der Speisebedarf2 SalomosSalomos für einen TagTag war: dreißig KorKor3 Feinmehl und sechzig KorKor MehlMehl,22 And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and sixty measures of meal,
3 zehn gemästete RinderRinder und zwanzig Weide-RinderRinder und hundert SchafeSchafe; ohne die HirscheHirsche und Gazellen und DamhirscheDamhirsche und das gemästete Geflügel4.23 ten fatted oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and a hundred sheep, besides harts, and gazelles, and fallow-deer, and fatted fowl.
4 Denn er herrschte über das ganze Land diesseit des Stromes, von Tiphsach5 bis GasaGasa, über alle KönigeKönige diesseit des Stromes; und er hatte Frieden auf allen Seiten ringsum.24 For he had dominion over all on this side the river, from Tiphsah as far as Gazah, over all the kings on this side the river; and he had peace on all sides round about.
5 Und JudaJuda und IsraelIsrael wohnten in Sicherheit, ein jeder unter seinem Weinstock und unter seinem FeigenbaumFeigenbaum, von DanDan bis BeersebaBeerseba, alle TageTage SalomosSalomos.25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig-tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.
6 Und SalomoSalomo hatte vierzigtausend Stände für Rosse zu seinen WagenWagen, und zwölftausend Reiter.26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
7 Und jene AufseherAufseher versorgten den König SalomoSalomo und alle, die zum Tische des Königs SalomoSalomo kamen, ein jeder in seinem Monat; sie ließen es an nichts fehlen.27 And those officers provided food for king Solomon, and for all who came to king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they let nothing be wanting.
8 Und die GersteGerste und das StrohStroh für die Rosse und für die Renner brachten sie6 an den Ort, wo er7 war, ein jeder nach seiner Vorschrift.28 And the barley, and the straw for the horses and coursers, they brought to the place where the superintendents were, every man according to his charge.
9 Und GottGott gab SalomoSalomo Weisheit und sehr große EinsichtEinsicht, und Weite des Herzens, wie der Sand, der am Ufer des MeeresMeeres ist.29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and very great understanding and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore.
10 Und die Weisheit SalomosSalomos war größer als die Weisheit aller Söhne des OstensOstens und als alle Weisheit Ägyptens.30 And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the sons of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
11 Und er war weiser als alle Menschen, als EthanEthan, der EsrachiterEsrachiter, und HemanHeman und KalkolKalkol und DardaDarda, die Söhne MacholsMachols. Und sein Name war unter allen NationenNationen ringsum.31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the nations round about.
12 Und er redete dreitausend SprücheSprüche, und seiner LiederLieder waren tausend und fünf.32 And he spoke three thousand proverbs; and his songs were a thousand and five.
13 Und er redete über die Bäume, von der ZederZeder, die auf dem LibanonLibanon ist, bis zum YsopYsop, der an der Mauer herauswächst; und er redete über das ViehVieh und über die VögelVögel und über das Gewürm8 und über die FischeFische.33 And he spoke of the trees, from the cedar-tree that is on Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of cattle, and of fowls, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
14 Und man kam aus allen Völkern, um die Weisheit SalomosSalomos zu hören, von allen Königen der ErdeErde her, die von seiner Weisheit gehört hatten.34 And there came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
15 Und9 HiramHiram, der König von TyrusTyrus, sandte seine KnechteKnechte zu SalomoSalomo, denn er hatte gehört, daß man ihn zum König gesalbt hatte an seines VatersVaters Statt; denn HiramHiram war allezeit ein Freund DavidsDavids gewesen.1 And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father; for Hiram always loved David.
16 Und SalomoSalomo sandte zu HiramHiram und ließ ihm sagen:2 And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
17 Du weißt ja, daß mein VaterVater DavidDavid nicht vermochte, dem NamenNamen JehovasJehovas, seines GottesGottes, ein HausHaus zu bauen, wegen der KriegeKriege, mit welchen sie ihn umgaben, bis JehovaJehova sie unter seine Fußsohlen legte.3 Thou knowest that David my father could not build a house unto the name of Jehovah his God, because of the wars which were about him on every side, until Jehovah put them under the soles of his feet.
18 Nun aber hat JehovaJehova, mein GottGott, mir RuheRuhe geschafft ringsum; da ist kein WidersacherWidersacher mehr und kein schlimmes Begegnis.4 But now Jehovah my God has given me rest on every side: there is neither adversary nor evil event.
19 Und siehe, ich gedenke dem NamenNamen JehovasJehovas, meines GottesGottes, ein HausHaus zu bauen, so wie JehovaJehova zu meinem VaterVater DavidDavid geredet und gesagt hat: Dein SohnSohn, den ich an deiner Statt auf deinen ThronThron setzen werde, der soll meinem NamenNamen ein HausHaus bauen.5 And behold, I purpose to build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God, as Jehovah spoke to David my father saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy stead, he shall build a house unto my name.
20 Und nun gebiete, daß man mir ZedernZedern vom LibanonLibanon haue; und meine KnechteKnechte sollen mit deinen Knechten sein; und den LohnLohn deiner KnechteKnechte will ich dir geben nach allem was du sagen wirst; denn du weißt ja, daß niemand unter uns ist, der HolzHolz zu hauen versteht wie die ZidonierZidonier.6 And now command that they hew me cedar-trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants; and I will give thee hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt say; for thou knowest that there is not among us any that are experienced in cutting timber like to the Zidonians.
21 Und es geschah, als HiramHiram die WorteWorte SalomosSalomos hörte, da freute er sich sehr; und er sprach: Gepriesen sei heute JehovaJehova, der DavidDavid einen weisen SohnSohn gegeben hat über dieses große Volk!7 And it came to pass when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be Jehovah this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people.
22 Und HiramHiram sandte zu SalomoSalomo und ließ ihm sagen: Ich habe gehört was du mir entboten hast; ich will all dein Begehr tun betreffs des Zedernholzes und betreffs des Zypressenholzes.8 And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard the things which thou sentest to me for: I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of cypress.
23 Meine KnechteKnechte sollen es vom LibanonLibanon an das MeerMeer hinabbringen; und ich werde auf dem MeereMeere Flöße daraus machen und sie bis an den Ort bringen lassen, den du mir angeben wirst, und dort will ich sie zerlegen lassen; und du sollst es abholen. Du aber sollst mein Begehr tun, indem du den Speisebedarf meines Hauses gibst.9 My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea; and I will convey them by sea in rafts to the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and thou shalt receive them. And thou shalt accomplish my desire in giving food for my household.
24 Und so gab HiramHiram dem SalomoSalomo Zedernholz und Zypressenholz nach all seinem Begehr.10 So Hiram gave Solomon cedar-trees and cypress-trees according to all his desire.
25 SalomoSalomo aber gab HiramHiram zwanzigtausend KorKor WeizenWeizen zur Nahrung für sein HausHaus, und zwanzig KorKor zerstoßenes Öl: so gab SalomoSalomo dem HiramHiram JahrJahr für JahrJahr.11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat as food for his household, and twenty measures of beaten oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
26 Und JehovaJehova gab SalomoSalomo Weisheit, so wie er zu ihm geredet hatte; und es war FriedeFriede zwischen HiramHiram und SalomoSalomo, und sie machten einen BundBund miteinander.12 And Jehovah gave Solomon wisdom as he promised him. And there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league.
27 Und der König SalomoSalomo hob Fronarbeiter aus ganz IsraelIsrael aus, und der Fronarbeiter waren dreißigtausend MannMann.13 And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
28 Und er schickte sie auf den LibanonLibanon, zehntausend im Monat, wechselweise: einen Monat waren sie auf dem LibanonLibanon, zwei MonateMonate in ihrem HauseHause; und AdoniramAdoniram war über die Fronarbeiter.14 And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, two months at home; and Adoniram was over the levy.
29 Und SalomoSalomo hatte siebenzigtausend Lastträger und achtzigtausend SteinhauerSteinhauer im GebirgeGebirge,15 And Solomon had seventy thousand that bore burdens, and eighty thousand stone-masons in the mountains;
30 ohne die Oberaufseher SalomosSalomos, welche über die Arbeit waren, dreitausend und dreihundert, die über das Volk walteten, das an der Arbeit beschäftigt war.16 besides the overseers whom Solomon had set over the work, three thousand three hundred, who ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
31 Und der König gebot, und sie brachen große SteineSteine, wertvolle10 SteineSteine, um den Grund des Hauses zu legen, behauene SteineSteine.17 And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
32 Und die Bauleute SalomosSalomos und die Bauleute HiramsHirams und die GibliterGibliter11 behieben sie, und sie richteten das HolzHolz und die SteineSteine zum Bau des Hauses zu.18 And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders and the Giblites hewed them, and prepared timber and stones to build the house.
